Quick Set-Up The instructions below and on the next page can be used to quickly install your new ONE FOR ALL. You can use the Quick Set-Up below with the codes listed on pages 11-21. If this doesn’t work, try the Quick Search on the next page. The Quick Search can also be used even if your brand is not listed at all. 1. Press device key: or or or 2. Quick Search 1. Aim your ONE FOR ALL at your device and press device key: or or or 2. Press and hold until the red light blinks twice. 3. Press 4. Alternate between the device key ( ie: ) and until your device turns off. 5. When device turns off, press . The red light will blink twice. Your device is Set Up. NOTES: - Make sure your device is switched on. - Make sure you aim your ONE FOR ALL at your device during “Quick Search”.
Installing the Batteries Your ONE FOR ALL 4 needs 2 new “AA/LR03” alkaline batteries. 1 Remove the battery cover from the back of your ONE FOR ALL 4 by pressing down on the tab. 2 Match the batteries to the + and marks inside the battery case, then insert the batteries. 3 Press the battery cover back into place. Important notes: - In order to avoid having to reprogram your ONE FOR ALL 4 after you remove the batteries, you will need to insert new batteries within 5 minutes.
The Keypad Key Function LEDs LEDs The LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) flash red to show the remote is working. Over each device key (TV, VCR, SAT, AUX) there is a LED. During operation of the ONE FOR ALL these LEDS will indicate the mode you are using. MAGIC Key The MAGIC key is used to set up your ONE FOR ALL 4 and to access special functions. Menu The Menu key controls the same function as it did on your original remote. Power The Power key controls the same function as it did on your original remote.
The Keypad Key Function _ Number Keys The Number keys (0-9, 10, 20) provide functions just like your original remote, such as direct access programme selection. If your original remote uses one/two digit input switching (-/-- symbol), this function can be obtained by pressing the -/-- key, which is the same as the 10 key. If your original remote has an AV, key this function can also be found under the 20 key.
Installation Direct Set-Up Setting Up Your Devices To set up the ONE FOR ALL 4 for your TV, VCR, Satellite and Cable Box, follow the instructions below. Installation The Search Method If your Television, Video Recorder, Satellite Receiver or Cable Box does not respond to the ONE FOR ALL 4 after you have tried all the codes listed for your brand, try searching for your code. The Search Method may also work if your brand is not listed at all. Let's say you cannot get your ONE FOR ALL 4 to control your Television. To search for your TV code: 1 Switch your Television on. 2 Press the TV key on your ONE FOR ALL 4. 3 Aim the ONE FOR ALL 4 at your Television.
Installation After you have used the Search Method, you can find out which code the ONE FOR ALL responded to by blinking back the code. It is handy to know your Television, Video, Satellite Receiver or Cable Box code for future reference. Remember, you can only blink back your code after the ONE FOR ALL is operating your device. To blink out your Television code: 1 Press TV. Press and hold MAGIC until the ONE FOR ALL 4’s red light blinks twice. 2 Press 9 9 0. The red light will blink twice.

Advanced Features Controlling Colour & Brightness Depending on the functions of your original remote control, the ONE FOR ALL 4 may operate the colour and brightness settings of your Television. By pressing MAGIC followed by a Volume or Channel key, you can access these functions.
Advanced Features Teletext and Fastext The ONE FOR ALL 4 is designed to operate the basic functions of teletext (text on, text off, expand and hold). Symbol Title Description TEXT Puts the Television in the teletext mode. TV Switches the Television back to regular viewing mode. On some Televisions, this may be done by pressing the TEXT key several times. EXPAND Shows the top half of the teletext page in larger letters. By pressing again, you can see the bottom half of the teletext page enlarged.
Advanced Features Menu If your original remote had Menu control, your ONE FOR ALL 4 will be able to control this feature. To use Menu, find the description below which describes how your original remote navigated through menu. Original remote used Up, Down, Left, Right: After pressing the Menu key on the ONE FOR ALL 4, the Volume and Channel keys can be used as directional keys. Use them the same way you did to navigate through the menu screen with your original remote control.
Advanced Features Sleeptimer Sleeptimer is a feature which comes built into many TVs and Satellites. It allows you to set your device to turn off within a certain amount of time. This feature comes in handy if, for example, you enjoy falling asleep with your television on. With the ONE FOR ALL, there are two ways to use the sleeptimer. If your TV or Satellite came with this feature built in, follow the instructions “Device Sleeptimer” below.
Advanced Features The ONE FOR ALL Sleeptimer Your ONE FOR ALL remote comes with an internal Sleeptimer function for those devices (TV or Satellite) which did not come standard with this function. To use the ONE FOR ALL Sleeptimer: Making your ONE FOR ALL ready for Sleeptimer: 1 or Press the device key (TV or SAT). Then, press and hold MAGIC until the red light blinks twice. Press 970. The red light will blink twice again. It is only necessary to perform steps 1 and 2 once.
Programme Scan Scan Your ONE FOR ALL 4 comes with a special Scan function which lets you “scan” through every programme available on your TV, VCR, Satellite or Cable Box. For example, to scan the programmes on your TV: 1 Aim the ONE FOR ALL 4 at your TV. Press the TV key. Press and release MAGIC then press the MUTE key. The ONE FOR ALL 4 will send the command to advance through all the programmes available on your Television stopping at each programme for about three seconds.
Advanced Features Using the AUX Key The AUX key on your ONE FOR ALL 4 can be used to control a second Television, Video Recorder or Satellite Receiver. To set up the AUX key to control a second TV: 1 Press and hold down the MAGIC key until the red light blinks twice (the light will blink once, then twice). 2 Press 9 9 2 TV AUX. The LED will blink twice.
Advanced Features Changing the Device Keys If you want, you can change any of the device keys (TV, VCR, SAT or AUX) to operate another type of device.
Trouble-Shooting Helpful Hints Problem: Solution: Red light does not blink when you press a key? Replace batteries with 2 fresh, new “AA” alkaline batteries. The ONE FOR ALL does not respond after pressing a key? Make sure you are using new batteries and are aiming the at your device. The ONE FOR ALL does not operate your device(s)? A) Try all the codes listed for your brand. B) Try the search method on page 8. Your brand is not listed in the code section? Try the search method on page 8.
