Connecting the panel reader to a power source The panel reader can be powered by a 12 V battery, using the battery leads supplied. The panel reader operates well from a 12 V automotive battery, however a marine battery is less prone to permanent damage if the battery is not charged at least every few days. Connect the red clip to the positive terminal (+) on the battery and the black clip to the negative terminal (-).
4 Ways to use the panel reader The panel reader can be used in two ways: 1. Standalone - the panel reader saves each scanned tag in its internal memory. These records can be transferred afterwards, as described in Section 8 – Getting information off. 2. Connected – the panel reader immediately transmits every scanned tag to a connected device, such as an indicator.

Recording EID tags when the panel reader is connected to another device Refer to example installation diagram in Section 5 – Installing the panel reader and antenna. 1. Set up the indicator or other device for a recording session, according to the instructions provided with the device. 2. Move the animal into the cattle crush. When the animal passes near the antenna, the EID tag will be read by the panel reader and sent to the connected indicator. The EID tag is recorded in the indicator’s internal memory.

Troubleshooting Tip 1: Loose cables are liable to damage or breakage from horns, chewing, or rubbing. Always secure cables with cable ties at intervals of approximately 200 mm. Tip 2: If you are getting poor or no read performance, you may need to distance the antenna from any metal (e.g. the crush bars). Remount the antenna at a distance from the metal, using non-metal objects to hold it securely in place. 10 C ON Tip 4: Never run the power supply cable across the front or back of the antenna.
Maintenance and servicing Caring for the panel reader and antenna Do not immerse the panel reader or antenna in water. Store the panel reader in a cool, dry place. Wipe the panel reader and antenna clean using a damp cloth, warm water and soap. Other cleaners may damage the equipment. Do not leave the panel reader where it may be exposed to extreme temperatures (e.g. on the dashboard of a vehicle). Fit the dust caps when there are no cables connected to the panel reader or antenna.

Conexión del lector de panel a una fuente de 2 alimentación El lector de panel puede alimentarse por una batería de 12 V mediante los cables de la batería suministrados. 2 Conetar o leitor de painel a uma fonte de energia O leitor de painel pode ser alimentado por uma bateria 12 V, usando os cabos de bateria fornecidos. O leitor de painel opera bem com uma bateria automotiva 12 V, mas uma bateria marinha é mais resistente contra danificação permanente, se a bateria não for carregada pelo menos de poucos em poucos dias. Fixe o clip vermelho no terminal positivo (+) da bateria e o clip preto no terminal negativo (). (-).
4 Como usar o leitor de painel O leitor de painel pode ser usado, como segue: 1. Independente - o leitor de painel salva todos os brincos lidos na sua memória interna. Solução de falhas Dica 1: Cabos soltos podem ser danificados ou quebrados pelos cornos, pelo mastigar ou esfregar dos animais. Sempre fixe os cabos com braçadeiras em intervalos de cerca de 200 mm. Dica 2: Se a performance de leitura for ruim ou nula, poderá ser necessário afastar a antena de todas as peças metálicas (p.ex. barras do brete). Monte a antena novamente numa certa distância das peças metálicas, usando objetos não metálicos para fixá-la seguramente.

2 Connexion du panneau lecteur à une source de courant Le panneau lecteur peut être alimenté par une batterie de 12 V à l'aide des câbles de batterie fournis. Le panneau lecteur fonctionne bien avec une batterie automobile de 12 V. Toutefois, une batterie marine est moins susceptible de subir des dommages irréversibles si elle n'est pas rechargée au moins tous les quelques jours. Connectez la pince rouge à la borne positive (+) de la batterie et la pince noire à la borne négative (-).

Problèmes et solutions Conseil 1 : Les câbles détachés risquent d'être endommagés ou cassés par des cornes, morsures ou frottements. Fixez toujours les câbles avec des attaches-câbles à des intervalles d'environ 200 mm. 44 C ON Conseil 4 : Ne faites jamais passer le câble d'alimentation électrique devant ou derrière de l'antenne. Éloignez toujours le câble d'alimentation électrique de l'antenne (p. ex. en le dirigeant vers l'autre côté de la cage de contention) afin d'éviter les interférences.
Maintenance et entretien Entretien du panneau lecteur et de l'antenne Ne jamais immerger le panneau lecteur ou l'antenne dans l'eau. Gardez le panneau lecteur dans un endroit frais et sec. Nettoyez le panneau lecteur et l'antenne à l'eau tiède et au savon à l'aide d'un chiffon humide. L'utilisation d'autres nettoyants peut endommager l'appareil. Ne laissez pas le panneau lecteur à un endroit où il peut être exposé à des températures extrêmes (p.ex. tableau de bord d'un véhicule).

2 Anschließen des Panel-Lesegeräts an eine Stromquelle Das Panel-Lesegerät kann mithilfe der mitgelieferten Batteriekabel über eine 12-V-Batterie betrieben werden. Das Gerät funktioniert gut mit einer 12-V-Autobatterie. Allerdings ist eine Bootsbatterie wesentlich weniger schadensanfällig, wenn die Batterie nicht mindestens alle paar Tage aufgeladen wird. Befestigen Sie den roten Clip an der positiven Batterieklemme (+) und den schwarzen Clip an der negativen Batterieklemme (-).
4 Verwendungsarten für das Panel-Lesegerät Das Panel-Lesegerät kann auf zwei Arten verwendet werden: 1. Alleine – das Gerät speichert jede eingescannte Ohrmarke in seinem internen Speicher. Diese Daten können später exportiert werden, siehe Abschnitt 8 – Daten exportieren. 2. In Verbindung mit einem anderen Gerät – das Panel-Lesegerät überträgt sofort jede eingescannte Marke an ein verbundenes Gerät, wie zum Beispiel ein Terminal.
• Die Positionierung der Antenne ist wichtig für ein effizientes Lesen der EID-Ohrmarken: Vorderseite des Fang- und Behandlungsstands, des Wiegekäfigs bzw. der Lesebereich Sortieranlage Tiere dürfen diesen Bereich nicht betreten. Tiere, die sich innerhalb dieses Bereiches befinden, können einen negativen Einfluss auf die eingeles enen Daten haben oder sogar die Antenne beschädigen. Antenne Tiere betreten hier den Fang- und Behandlungsstand, den Wiegekäfig bzw. die Sortieranlage.
7 EID-Ohrmarken einlesen Die Art, wie EID-Ohrmarken eingelesen werden, hängt davon ab, ob das Panel-Lesegerät alleine oder in Verbindung mit einem anderen Gerät (zum Beispiel einem Terminal) verwendet wird. Problemlösung Tipp 1: Bei ungesicherten Kabeln besteht immer die Gefahr einer Beschädigung durch die Tiere (durch Hörner, Zähne u. Ä.). Sichern Sie die Kabel in Abständen von ca. 200 mm mit Kabelbindern. Tipp 2: Der Grund für eine schlechte Lesereichweite oder überhaupt fehlenden Empfang können Gegenstände aus Metall sein, die sich in der Nähe der Antenne befinden (z. B. Metallbalken im Behandlungsstand).
Wartung und Pflege Pflege des Panel-Lesegeräts und der Antenne Tauchen Sie das Panel-Lesegerät oder die Antenne nicht ins Wasser. Bewahren Sie das Panel-Lesegerät an einem kühlen, trockenen Ort auf. Reinigen Sie das Panel-Lesegerät und die Antenne mit einem feuchten Tuch, warmem Wasser und Seife. Andere Reinigungsmittel können das Gerät beschädigen. Vermeiden Sie es, das Panel-Lesegerät extremen Temperaturen auszusetzen (zum Beispiel in einem Fahrzeug unter Sonneneinstrahlung).
