SET UP INSTRUCTIONS (Fig. 1) 1. Remove the SEED-N-THATCH from the ship. Replace the 3/8 x 1" bolts and secure. ping carton. 5. Tighten the pivot bolts. 2. Remove the 3/8 x 1" bolts and hardware on each side of the Handle Bracket. 3. Pivot the Handle Assembly backwards until the holes in the Handle line up with the holes in the Handle Bracket. .
BEFORE OPERATING CHECK ENGINE QIL The Briggs engine is shipped with 1-1/4 pints of oil in the crankcase; however, level of oil must be checked before and after the engine is first started. 1. Position machine on a elev! surface. 2. Remove dipstick and wipe it with a clean rag. Push dipstick down into dipstick tube and make sure it is seated fully. Pull dipstick out and check level of oil. If oil is low, add enough ail to raise level to FULL mark on dipstick, 3.
CONTROLS SEED FLOW HANDLE (Fig. 2) The seed flow handier controls the amount of seed being applied. The seed flow is adjusted by moving the seeder handle (A) to the left or right. Moving the handier to the left increases the flow of seed. After the adjustment has been made, move the adjustment obit and knob {B) against the handier and tighten. The seed flow rate will be set for future applications.

LUBRICATION GREASE FITTINGS Grease the fitting weekly or every 40 operating hours. Use a No. 2 Lithium based grease.
MAINTENANCE A DANGER If machine becomes clogged, shut off engine and wait for alt moving parts to stop. Remove spark plug wire before servicing. BLADE DEPTH ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 4) The depth of the blades is determined by the blade depth adjustment bolt. Lassen the hex nut then turn adjustment knob clockwise to allow blades to penetrate deeper: counterclockwise for less depth. Normal operating depth is between 1/4" and 1/2". Operating at greater depths will cause premature wear to the blades.
