Replacement Engines Have Different Wiring
Product: Pro Force
®
Debris Blower
November 12, 2014
Affected Units:
Pro Force Debris Blower
Serial Numbers:
280000101 - 311000999
Situation: Replacement Kohler engines for early Pro Force Blowers have different wiring than the
original equipment. Kohler has changed their ignition coil from a three wire to a single wire design. This
change eliminates the need to connect the grey wire in the Toro harness that originally provided twelve
volts to the ignition coil via the red Kohler wire.
Instructions: When installing a new engine, use a schematic to ensure the wires from the from the
Toro harness are connected to the correct wires on the Kohler harness. Do not connect the grey wire
on the Toro harness to any connectors on the Kohler harness. Connect the single white wire from the
ignition coil to one of the available white wire terminals on the Kohler harness. Electrical schematics are
located in the back of the operators manual and the Pro Force service manual.
