SPECIFICATIONS SWEEPING WIDTH: 60" PICK UP FINGERS: Abrasion resistant, high resistance rubber, 140 per machine. PICK UP: Mechanical pick up using two counter rotating reels with inter meshing rubber fingers. Reels are held in time with #60 roller chain. HOPPER: 5 cubic yards, galvanized steel welded steel frame. DOOR: Manually operated. Steel frame with galvanized steel facing.
SET UP INSTRUCTIONS ATTACH WHEELS TO HOPPER (Flg. 1) 1. Remove whee! and tire assemblies from skid. 2. Place hopper on level surface and carefully turn ton its side, taking care not to distort the hopper road. 3. SET UP INSTRUCTIONS (Continued) ATTACH TURF SWEEPER TO TRACTOR IMPORTANT: The TURF SWEEPER 6500 weighs about 1300 ibs. and can hold 400 to 600 Ibs. of material. The tractor must be capable of handling this weight. 1. Connect the PTO half (13/8" splines slip clutch) to the tractor. When new, the spring dock lever on the end of the PTO is hard to operate. Apply grease and move the lever until it snaps in and out freely. In the correct position the lever will spring back out and lock the two shafts together.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS SWEEPING PROCEDURE IMPORTANT: The maximum PTO speed Is 540 RPM. Do not operate at a taster speed because the reel, sprockets and PTO will be damaged. 1. Start tractor engine and run at a low RPM. 2. Select tractor forward speed. 3. With tractor moving forward MPH, gradually engage the PTO. 4. Increase tractor speed to full RPM. 5. Always operate in a straight line. IMPORTANT: NEVER run the reels in one spot for longer than a minute because turf will be damaged. 2.
LUBRICATION BEARINGS (Flg. 4) The sweeper has nine self sealing bearings that must be lubricated with a No. 2 Lithium based grease. IMPORTANT: Lubricate the bearings to maintain a slight leakage on the seals. Too much grease can cause overheating. WHEELS AND WHEEL BEARINGS (Fig. 4) Grease fittings and wheel bearings every 100 operating hours. Use a No. 2 Lithium based grease. MAINTENANCE DRIVE CHAIN ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 5) The reel chain is adjusted to allow a 1/8* deflection with 5 Ibs, of force. Do not over tighten because the chain will wear rapidly. Dao not operate with a loose chain because the sprocket will wear rapidly. 1. Remove chain guard. 2. Loosen the nuts on the Idler Bracket (C). 3. STORAGE 1. Thoroughly clean the sweeper sottish free of dirt, leaves and debris. 2. Inflate tires to 28 PSI, 3. Check all fasteners. Tighten as necessary. 4. Grease or oil all grease fittings and bearings. Wipe off excess lubricant. 5. Check the tension and condition of the drive chain. Adjust the tension if necessary and apply heavy coat of grease. 6. Check the condition of the rubber fingers. Replace any broken or missing fingers.
