OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS TOP DRESSER BRAKE OPERATION WARNING! The brakes require a break-in period of approximately 100 stops for the brakes to *burnish® and generate maximum brake force. The brakes are self-adjusting and will adjust as required in reverse brake applications. See MAINTENANCE section. The Top dresser's brakes are electrically controlled by the . OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS ADJUSTING THE GATE OPENING: The two Limit Switches control the length of the Actuator's extension or retraction. MAINTENANCE ROLLER CHAIN: A chain that Is too loose will “climb" on the Sprocket teeth, "slap® and run noisily. A chain that is too fight will cause excessive bearing goads, resulting in heat build-up and wear. To correct either problem, proceed as follows: 1. Make sure the Sprockets are in vertical alignment with one another. Correct -any misalignment by loosening the set screw in the Gearbox Sprocket and raise or lower it to align it with the Spinner Sprocket. See FIG. 11, 4. Idler Bracket 5.
MAINTENANCE AFTER EVERY 5 HOURS OR DAILY: 1. Check the oil level in the engine's crankcase before engine start-up, while engine Is cool. Have the machine on a level surface. 2. Remove dipstick and wipe it with a clean rag. Insert dipstick into tube and make sure it is seated fully. 3.
