1 2 Preparing the Machine Removing the Battery Box No Parts Required No Parts Required Procedure Procedure 1. Park the machine on a level surface, remove any attachment, engage the parking brake, raise the loader arms, and install the cylinder locks. WARNING 2. Shut off the machine and remove the key. The batteries contains high voltage, which could burn or electrocute you. 3. Remove the hood. • Do not attempt to open the batteries. 4. Separate the 2 main-power connectors.

6. Secure the batteries to the battery boxes with belts. 8. Remove the bolts securing the battery box to the machine frame. g367558 Figure 8 g367670 Figure 10 7. Disconnect the battery data cable harness from the left and right batteries. 9. Remove the battery box using a forklift.

Brace the battery enclosure open enough to reach the negative battery terminal on the top battery without pulling on the jumper lead between the negative terminal and the negative electrical junction block mounted to the battery enclosure cover. 4. Using a 13 mm socket with extension, remove the nut and washer on the negative battery stud. Remove the negative jumper lead. 5. Using a 13 mm socket, remove the nut and washer from the positive battery stud on the bottom battery.

Connect the new battery data cable harness to the batteries. 4 Installing the Brackets Parts needed for this procedure: Use a torque wrench and torque the cable connectors to 7 to 9 kgf∙cm (6 to 8 in-lbs). Route the front, left, and right battery data cable connections through the machine. 3.

Secure the front, left, and right battery data cables; torque the fittings to 7 to 9 kgf∙cm (6 to 8 in-lbs).
5 Finishing the Installation No Parts Required Procedure 1. Secure the battery box to the machine frame. 2. Install the thigh support pad and brackets. 3. Remove the belts securing the side batteries and install the battery box covers. 4. Install the counterweight using a hoist and secure it to the platform with the pin. 5. Connect the 2 main-power connectors. 6. Install the hood.
