1.Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkey.

2.RemovethemowerdeckasdescribedinyourOperator’s

Manual.

3.Turnthemowerdeckupsidedown.

4.Removethemowerbladesasdescribedinyour

Operator’sManual.

5.Usinggloves,removeanydebrisandgrassclippings

fromtheundersideofthedeck.

6.Locatethecutoffbafeattheside-dischargeopening

onthemowerdeck(Figure1).

7.Removethefastenersthatsecurethecutoffbafeto

thedeck,andremovethecutoffbafe.

Note:Savethecutoffbafeforconvertingthemower

deckbacktoside-discharging.

8.Installthefastenersintothesameholesinthedeck

fromwhichtheywereoriginallyremoved.

Note:Thisensuresthatnoholesareleftopenwhen

youoperatethedeck.

otherstothrowndebris.Debristhrownoutof

theholesinthemowerdeckcancauseinjury.

•Neveroperatethemowerdeckwithout

hardwaremountedinallholesinthe

9.Removethe2plugboltsand2nutsfromthemower

deckinthelocationsshownFigure2.

10.Installthebafeassemblytotheright-handsideofthe

mowerdeckwithacarriagebolt(5/16x3/4inch)and

4angenuts(5/16inch)asshowninFigure2.

Note:Handtightenthefasteners.

Operation Operating Tips Selecting the Proper Height-of-Cut Setting to Suit the Conditions Remove approximately 1 inch or no more than 1/3 of the grass blade when cutting. In exceptionally lush and dense grass you may need to raise the height-of-cut setting another notch or convert to side-discharging or bagging operations.
