Disassembling the Gearcase

2. Disassemble the g earcase assembly .

3. R emo v e and discard the old g ask et (if

applicable).

Inspecting the Gearcase 6. Start the 9 screws by hand to avoid cross threading, and torque them in sequence to 135 to 165 in-lb (17.0 N·m). 1. Inspect the gearcase castings for ﬂaws or scratches in the gasket surface area, and replace the castings if necessary. 2. If the gearcase has a gasket and you plan to reuse the castings, clean the machined surfaces with a liquid gasket remover. 7. Remove the external loop of the gasket by cutting along the perforations. 8. Assemble the augers to the gearcase.

Examinez les deux moitiés du boîtier et remplacez-les si la surface du joint est endommagée ou rayée. 2. Si le boîtier d'engrenages est équipé d'un joint et que vous souhaitez réutiliser les deux parties, nettoyez les surfaces usinées avec un produit d'enlèvement de joint liquide. 6.
