Adjusting the Operating Height Note: Make sure that both castor assemblies are mounted at the same height. 5. The operating height is set at the factory for 13-mm (1/2 inch) high grass. Adjusting the Drive Belts Service Interval: Every 20 hours—Check and adjust the drive belt. Make sure the belts are properly tensioned to ensure proper operation of the machine and unnecessary wear. Replacing the Finger Belts 1. Loosen the nuts and washers securing the finger pinchers to the rotor (Figure 13 and Figure 14). 2. Remove the old belt fingers. 3. Replacing the Flail Knives Reverse or replace the flail knives when the edges become curved from wear. 1. Remove the roll pin securing the mounting pin to the flail rotor (Figure 15). 2. Slide the mounting pin from the rotor, allowing you to remove the flail knives and spacers. 3. Inspect the spacers and mounting pins for wear. Replace as necessary. 4.
