Subject: Ring Gear Hub (95-1828) Leaks Gear Oil.
The holes used for attaching the wheels to the mower may have been machined
incorrectly. This condition has been found to cause gear lubricant leakage due to
improper sealing of the wheel.
If the four tapped bolt holes in the Ring Gear Hub (95-1828) have been drilled short of
the specified minimum 0.687” (17.5 mm) depth, the wheel will not seat fully. In addition,
these holes may have been tapped for 8 mm diameter bolts rather than 5/16-18 NC
thread required; the threads could be damaged.
Contact your Toro Commercial Distributor if either of these conditions are found.
The listing of Hub Assembly (2-4599), which includes Ring Gear Hub (95-1828), was
accidentally left out of the 2001 Reelmaster Parts Catalog. This assembly will appear in
future Reelmaster Parts Catalogs.
