What is the coolNYC™ program? The coolNYC program is designed to let Con Edison customers who own window A/C units better manage their power use while saving energy this summer.

Quick setup Follow these simple instructions to get on your way to savings! NOTE: DO NOT PLUG IN THE USB RECEIVER OR MODLET BEFORE COMPLETING THE SOFTWARE WIZARD. The wizard will prompt you when to plug them in. 1. Software 2. Hardware Plug your USB receiver into your computer when prompted by the Installer. Depending on your computer, you may see some ‘found new hardware’ or ‘install new hardware’ prompts. If so, be sure to accept all of them.
If you have more than one window A/C unit and modlet, set up each additional modlet one at a time as you move away from your computer, so that the last modlet plugged in is the one farthest from your computer. To set up additional modlets, click the Add Modlets button on the installer and install each modlet using the same procedure as the first modlet. 3. Monitor & Control Finish setting up your account and then start viewing your energy consumption through the Energy Usage tab.
How it works The modlet smartAC kit converts any window air-conditioner into an Internet-enabled device with smart thermostat control and scheduling capabilities. ThinkEco Web App • Displays real-time and historical energy consumption data. • Allows you to schedule your window A/C on or off or change the SET TO temperature from a computer or mobile device. (This is equivalent to programming a household thermostat to turn off and on at certain times of the day.
Software tips 1. Energy Usage 2. Savings Plans Displays total power consumption for all A/Cs as well as individual A/C units. Allows you to set schedules for when your window A/C is on or off. When you schedule your window A/C to be “on,” the thermostat is activated and works with the modlet to maintain the target temperature in the room. Please note, this feature is only available after the initial baseline period.* Customize the time period displayed on the graph.

Troubleshooting ThinkEco modlet® If you are connected to the internet and logged into your account, but you’re not seeing the latest data, try these tips. Specifications 1. Check USB • Make sure your USB receiver is plugged in all the way. • Next unplug it and then plug it back into your computer. • Check the status of your USB by clicking on the Modlet Network link in the top right of your screen and then clicking on USB Receiver. 2.
