Hints ⚫ Make sure you lay the cable in a way that the danger of stumbling is avoided. ⚫ Never hold or carry the device by the power cable. ⚫ Do not clamp or damage the power cable. ⚫ Ensure that the power adapter do not come into contact with water, steam or other liquids. ⚫ You have to check the complete construction at regular intervals for functionality, tightness and damage to prevent the defect of the device. ⚫ Only use the product for purposes due to its intended function & only for household use.

Before the start For the use of Internet Radio the following requirements are needed: 1. WiFi router with connection to the Internet 2. WiFi router needs to support 2.4GHz transmission and WiFi (802.11b/g/n) standard. Battery installation (remote control): 1. Press the tab on the battery door and lift it off. 2. Install two (2) x AAA size batteries into the battery compartment as the figure on right and the polarity markings inside battery compartment. 3. Replace the battery door.
CD compartment: Remove the paper protection Disk from the CD compartment before inserting a CD. Not removing the paper protection disk causes playback issues. Caution: Not removing the paper protection disk might could cause fire! Remove it before use! First start Set language, confirm the privacy policy for My mediaU and get the network ready.
3.3 If you answer ‘Yes’, the display goes to scanning for WiFi Network and shortly afterwards a list of available WiFi networks will appear. Select your network and confirm with Enter. If your WiFi is password-protected, you will be prompted to enter your password. Note: ●The number of bars in the wireless symbol in front the network name(SSID) shows the relative signal strength of the network. ●The key symbol indicates that the network is password-protected.
It may take a few seconds to establish the connection to the network.
The saved stations are shown under this menu. You may also press Preset or Memory to enter the saved station list. Under the preset station list, move to your station, press Enter to listen, You may also press to enter its submenu to Delete (deletes a radio station from the favorites list), Shift Up/down along the list, Rename (you can give the radio station a name of your choice), or Play. Press PRESET, then rotate the KNOB on the device or using the or of remote control to recall the saved station.
History: A list of last listened stations. It can save up to 10 history stations. For each station, press Enter to play directly. You may press to enter its submenu – you can Add to Favorite, Auto Scan, or Play. When you choose Auto Scan, every radio station in the chosen subcategory will be play backed for about 15 seconds before it moves to the next one until all have played. Or your press Enter to stop the Auto Scan function.
FM Choose FM mode from the main menu and confirm with Enter. FM radio mode receives analogue radio from the FM band. For better reception, remove the telescopic antenna (14) from the holder on the back of the device and pull it out completely. Let the system scan for ALL station by pressing ENTER on the device or remote or press and hold SCAN (5) on the remote control. Confirm with Yes if you want to auto scan for FM stations by pressing Enter (12) or Enter (15) on the remote.
DAB/DAB+ Choose DAB/DAB+ mode from the main menu and confirm with Enter. DAB/DAB+ radio mode receives digital radio from the DAB+ band. For better reception, remove the telescopic antenna (14) from the holder on the back of the device and pull it out completely. The display will show DAB in the top left corner. First time entering the mode the device will automatically scan for DAB+ radio stations. After the scan has finished the radio stations are saved.

Insert a CD disc into the CD compartment. Slightly press the CD down in the middle to fix it. Close the CD door. Choose CD mode from the main menu and confirm with Enter.
Bluetooth Choose Bluetooth mode from the Main menu and confirm with Enter. Make sure that no other Bluetooth device is connected to the radio. “Bluetooth Disconnected" will appear on the display. Activate Bluetooth mode on the device that you want to connect. Look for The radio on the list of detected devices on the Bluetooth device (refer to the instruction manual of the device). Once the devices have found each other, the radio will appear as “Technaxx TX-178“ on the Bluetooth device.
Sleep Radio A list of different preinstalled radio stations that play calming sounds to get you to sleep or calm down. Choose one of them with the knob (12) and press enter (12). Or use the arrow buttons (13, 17) and the Enter button (15) on the remote to choose. Podcast Under Podcast you can check for podcasts you like and play them back directly from the TX-178 without connecting a Smartphone.
encounter failure of reading the track under UPnP mode, you may try to rename the file. However, if the track is still unable to play, you can try converting the file to MP3 or WMA format. Media Center The Media Center mode combines the Podcast, USB and UPnP modes to have less shortcuts in the Main menu. To get information for each mode go through the manual and check each point. Timer Set a timer by using the arrow buttons on the device or the remote. Start the set timer by pressing Enter button.
Configuration Set up and configure the device. Time Display Enter the setting to choose Analog or Digital clock for standby display. Choosing digital, set the color of the digital clock numbers as well. Confirm your choice by pressing Enter. Network Wireless Network Configuration: Enable / disable WiFi network. When you enable the WiFi network, the system will automatically scan for WiFi networks in the range of the TX-178. Select your required WiFi router.
Check Network when Power On: Enable / disable WiFi network. When you enable the WiFi network, the system will automatically search the available WiFi-Router. Select you required WiFi-Router. Setup PIN for APP: Enable the PIN for App to secure the access to the TX-178. The App asks you to enter the shown PIN shown on the TX-178. When the function is disabled everyone with the App in the same WiFi network can control the TX-178.
Alarm1: Set the Alarm on/off. After that set Repeat (Everyday, Once, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun), Time (HH:MM) and Sound (Beep, Melody, Internet Radio, FM; DAB/DAB+, USB, CD). Alarm2: Set the Alarm on/off. After that set Repeat (Everyday, Once, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun), Time (HH:MM) and Sound (Beep, Melody, Internet Radio, FM; DAB/DAB+, USB, CD). During alarm, press button to stop the alarm, Press the any button on the device or the remote to enter snooze mode.
Scheduled playing Set on/off. When you set on you can set: - Repeat: Choose Everyday, Once, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun - Time: Set start time (left) and end time(right) - Sound: Choose the mode Internet Radio, FM or DAB/DAB+. Then choose a radio station from your favorites/presets that will be played.
Sleep Timer Turn off or set the sleep time of 15/30/60/90/120/150/180 minutes. Once the time is set, there will be a bed icon with remaining minutes at the top right comer and TX-178 will turn to standby then. Weather TX-178 is able to display the current weather information under standby mode. First set your location or the location where the TX-178 is placed. Use the Knob (12) and the remote to navigate through the menu. Confirm the points one by one using Enter on the device or the remote.
Playback Setup Select the playback mode of USB, CD and UPnP – Off (no repeat or shuffle), Repeat all, Repeat one, or Shuffle. Menu Here you can set the short cuts that show in the Main Menu. By default the following shortcuts are set: Internet Radio, USB, FM, DAB/DAB+, CD, AUX, Bluetooth. Equalizer Default equalizer is Normal. You may change to Flat, Jazz, Rock, Soundtrack, Classical, Pop, or News. In this setting you can change each equalizer individually or set your own under my EQ.

Troubleshooting Problem Solution Device does not switch on - Check if the power supply is correctly connected to the power outlet. - Check if the cable of the power supply is correctly connected to the device. - Unplug it, wait 1 minute and then plug it back in. No sound - Check if the mute function in the volume control is activated (mute). - Increase the volume until you hear sound again No Internet connection - Check if the WLAN router is working properly.
