Warning z Do not touch the player with bare hands if the built-in battery is leaking. In this case, contact service center for help since the liquid may remain in the player. If your body or clothes has been contacted with the battery liquid, wash it off thoroughly with water. Also, if some of liquid gets into your eyes, do not rub your eyes but immediately wash them with clean water, and consult a doctor. z Never use the player while driving a car or using other vehicles to avoid traffic accidents.
Cautions z Do not subject the device to severe impact or drop it from high position. z Do not use the player in extreme hot or cold, dusty or damp field. Do not expose it to direct sunshine. z Back up the data frequently in case of accident data loss. z Avoid using the player in strong magnetic field. z Keep the device away from water or other liquids. In the event that water or other liquids enter the device, power off the product immediately, and clean the device.
Notice z Please charge the unit when any of the following cases occur: – The battery indicator informs low battery. – The player turns off automatically, and turns off again after rebooting. – The keys become inactive. – Can't turn on the player. z Please disconnect the player from PC properly to avoid data loss. z The transfer rate displayed on the PC may be different depending on the operating system. Before Using Driver This player is plug & play for WIN2000/XP/ME/Vista OS. Connect to a PC and download audio files To connect the player with the PC for transferring files: 1. Plug the larger end of the USB cable to the USB port of the PC, and plug the smaller end to the USB port of the player. 2. When the “ ” icon appears at the right bottom of the PC screen, double click “My Computer” on the desktop, you see a removable disk which indicates the player.
Charging the battery The device has a rechargeable built-in lithium-ion battery. It is charged via USB connection. You are required to charge it when you use it for the first time. To charge the battery, connect the larger end of the USB cable to the USB interface of PC, and connect the other smaller end of the USB cable to the USB interface of this player. The player enters Udisk mode automatically.

Power On/Off To power on: Press and hold the key until you see prompt on the display. To power off: Press and hold the key until you see prompt on the display. Disabling the Controls You may want to disable the controls to avoid turning on the player or activating the controls accidentally when it is in your pocket or bag. If you press and hold down the M and buttons simultaneously, you will lock all buttons. If a button is pressed, a locking symbol is shown on the display.
Basic Operation Function Operation Play/Pause Press the Adjust Volume Under playback status only (in music, video and radio mode): Press and hold : volume up Press and hold : volume down Move to the previous file Shortly press the button. Browser Function To browse all files stored in the player: 1. In the music, video, photo and text mode, shortly press the button to enter folder navigation mode (browser mode). The Browser shows the current playing/displaying file. 2. Press the or button to select a folder or a file, and press the button to confirm selection. Playing Music Press and hold the M button to display the main menu. Use the or button to select “Music” menu, and press the button to confirm selection.
Favorite With this option you can listen to your favorite music that you already marked as favorite. To add a song to your “Favorite” list, simply press the button while on top of a file. Make a selection using M button. Inside the “Favorite” folder if you press a new menu will pop up allowing you to erase one or all the favorite marked songs. Make a selection using M button. Note: Erasing an element from Favorite you only eliminate what marks it as favorite, the file will stay in memory.
Playing Videos 1. Press and hold the M button to display the main menu. 2. Use the or button to select “Movie” menu, and press the button to enter the video player mode. 3. Press the or button to search a video file that you want to play, and press the button to play. For detail information about playing, see the “Basic Operation” section. Important: During playing, you can shortly press the button to enter folder navigation mode. Important: This player can only play AVI videos.
Save station To save the found station, 1. Shortly press the button to activate the submenus. 2. Press the or button to switch to the “mem” and press the button to confirm. 3. Press the or button to select an empty location for the station, and press the M button to continue. 4. Press the or button to select “Yes” or “No”, and press the M button to confirm. Listen to Station To listen to saved station, 1. Shortly press the button to activate submenus. 2.
Viewing Photos To view photos: 1. Press and hold the M button to display the main menu. 2. Select “Photo” and press the button to confirm. 3. In folder navigation mode (browser mode) press the or button to select a folder or image, and press the to confirm. 4.
Reading E-book Reading 1. Press and hold the M button to display the main menu. 2. Select “Text” and press the button to confirm. 3. Press the or button to select a .txt file, and press the button to open the selected file. 4. Press the or button to page up/down, or press the button to page down automatically (by setting the time interval in “Setup (Setting)/Auto Browse/Text Browse”). 5. During reading, you can use the bookmark to mark the page for resuming reading later.
Voice Recording Record 1. Press and hold the M button to display the main menu. 2. Select “Record”, and press the button to enter the recorder mode. 3. Shortly press the button to start recording. During recording, you can press the button to pause/resume recording. 4. Press and hold the button to save the recorded file and skip to the recording status again. 5. Press and hold the M button to save the recorded file and exit recording.
Explorer Enter Explorer mode to view all folders and files loaded on your player. Furthermore files can be deleted. Selecting Files 1. Press and hold the M button to display the main menu. 2. Select “Search”, and press the button. 3. Press the or button to select a .file, and press the button to open the selected file. 4. The player enters the corresponding function interface then. If the file is not been recognized, there will be no response after pressing the button.
Customizing Settings To customize the player settings: 1. On the main menu, select the “Setup” item and press the button to enter the system settings mode. 2. Press the or button to select setting item and press the button to confirm. Press the button to return to the previous menu.
Record REC Quality High Quality, General Quality Auto Browse Text Browse (Set interval between the previous and the next page when the device is in auto page up/down mode.) Photo Browse (Set interval between the previous and the next slide in auto slide show mode.
Convert and Play Video Files Important: This player is only able to play AVI videos that have been converted with the provided converting tool. The converting tool can support AVI, MPG, MPEG, RM, RMVB, WMV, DAT files, etc. Your player supports XviD-encoded AVI files with the following specifications: 160 x 128 resolution.
Conversion 1. Run the “AVIConverter” program. 2. Click dow. button to display “Conversion Setting” win- 3. For the “Source File” field, specify the file that you want to convert by clicking the button on the right. 4. For the “Target File Path” field, specify the destination where the converted file is saved.
5. Set the conversion quality in the “Quality” field and display mode in the “Aspect Ratio” filed. 6.Click to save your setting. To convert another file, repeat the steps above. 7. Click button to close the setting window. 8. Click to start converting. 9. After finishing the conversion (Progress = 100%, Status = Ok), click to exit. 10.The successfully converted AVI video file can be transferred to the player and there be played.
Firmware Upgrade Important: z We like you to take into consideration that upgrading firmware always can be risky. z So the upgrade or recovery function should be used only, if there is noticeable malfunction. There are two ways to upgrade the firmware. Firmware Upgrade with Setup 1. Select “Setup/System/Upgrade” in the main menu, and then start to upgrade as per the prompt. 2. Press or to select “Yes” or “No”, and then press the M button.
3. Please follow the instructions on the screen, which were given by the hardware assistant for installation of the recovery driver. 4. Please start the program “RKnanoTool” from the provided CD after the installation of the driver has been finished.
5. Click on “Open” and select the respective firmware file. 6. Pressing the button “Upgrade” starts the upgrading/recovering. Please use the option “Full Speed” if the update has been failed.
7. After the process has been finished you can close the program with “Exit”. Now the M button at the player can be released and the player can be disconnected with “Safely Remove Hardware”.
Troubleshooting Problem Possible Cause Solution The LCD displays nothing when the device is started. Battery is too low. Charge the battery. The player has no response when the buttons are touched. Player "hangs". Re-initialize player (press reset hole with metal pin). The volume is too low. Adjust the volume. Bad audio file. Delete or skip the file. The player cannot be connected to the PC.
