Before Use Read this before operation < As the unit may become warm during operation, always leave sufficient space around the unit for ventilation. The ventilation holes should not be covered. Make sure there is at least 50 cm of space above and at least 10 cm of space on each side of the unit. Do NOT place anything on top of the unit. < The voltage supplied to the unit should match the voltage as printed on the rear panel. If you are in any doubt regarding this matter, consult an electrician.

A FM Indoor Antenna In an area with strong FM signals, the T-type FM antenna provided with this unit is sufficient.

Connection (AM antenna) AM Indoor Loop Antenna The high-performance AM loop antenna provided with this unit is sufficient for good reception in most areas. To stand the loop antenna on a surface, fix the claw to the slot in the antenna base. Connect the loop antenna’s wires to the AM antenna terminals. How to connect: Press the lever, insert the end of the cord, then release the lever. Make sure it is fastened securely by pulling the cord lightly.

Positioning of the Speakers The positioning of speakers differs according to the size and acoustics of the listening room. While actually listening to a program source, try various speaker positions to determine which layout provides the best surround effect. < Ideally, position all the speakers in a circle, with the same distance from your listening position. < Place the speakers connected to “L” to your left, and “R” to your right.

Remote Control Unit 1 How to use the Remote Control Unit 1 Turn on the main power of the component to be operated. 2 Select the component to be operated by pressing the corresponding REMOTE SELECT button for that component. When you want to control the TEAC AG-15D receiver, press the RECEIVER button. 3 Point the remote control unit towards the remote sensor on the front panel of the component you want to control, and press the buttons to operate. Buttons available for each device are listed on page 118.

Remote Control Unit 2 Entering a Setup Code The supplied universal remote control unit can operate not only this receiver but also up to 7 most popular brands of audio and video components such as CD players, cassette decks, TVs, cable boxes, VCRs, DVD players, satellite receivers, and so on. To operate components other than this receiver, you should enter the setup code for each component. The factory default setup code of CD and DVD is “000”.

Remote Control Unit 3 Using a Punch-through Function This remote control unit may be programmed to operate either “RECEIVER volume punch-through” or “TV volume and/or TV channel punch-through” in conjunction with any of the eight components controlled by this remote control unit. A For example, since this receiver will likely be used as the sound system controller while watching TV, you may want to adjust this receiver’s volume although this remote control is set to control the TV.

For example, if you want to program a macro into the M1 button, press the ENTER button and “1”. The LED will flicker once.

Speaker Configuration 5 1 2 Balancing relative volume between speakers using Test Tone The test tone function is useful to adjust the relative volume between speakers. Once the balance is set, you don’t have to change the balance as long as the speakers aren’t moved. < It is also possible to adjust the relative volume during playback of DVD. See 50 page for details. < Use the remote control from your listening position. < The T.TONE button will not work when the SPEAKER button is set to off.
