first. Seat the bottom edge of the battery then close locking clamp with a firm click. To remove battery, turn off radio power, open locking clamp, and slide battery downwards and outwards. q To install antenna, insert antenna connector into top of radio and twist clockwise until firmly seated. Do not over-tighten antenna. ▶ INSTALL BELT CLIP Insert belt clip into receptical on back of battery and push upwards until firmly locked in place.
▶ LCD DISPLAY GETTING STARTED The LCD display shows a variety of radio modes and settings.
y While radio is powered on, turn knob clockwise to increase speaker volume, and counter-clockwise to decrease volume. BASIC OPERATION ▶ SHORTCUT OPERATION LED Indicator PTT Function Keypad yy Push [PTT] and speak to microphone to transmit. Release [PTT] when finished. Radio cannot receive while [PTT] is held. y [MENU]: Short press [MENU] to access radio settings. While navigating settings, [MENU] serves as forward/enter to select options. y [UP] / [DOWN]: Channel up/down.

Configuration steps: 1. Press [MENU] 2. Press the [UP] or 3. [DOWN], choose Beep menu option as displayed.
⚠ NOTE Incorrect squelch setting can degrade radio reception. Too low of a setting can subject radio to interference, too high a setting can limit signal reception. We recommend a setting of 3-5 for most usages cases. ▶ VOX FUNCTION SETTING (VOX.SWI) This setting controls voice-activated transmission functionality when paired with a compatible headset. With VOX mode enabled, the [PTT] button is not required Configuration steps: 1. Press [MENU] 2. Press [UP] or [DOWN] choose VOX.
▶ WIRED RADIO CLONING This radio is capable of radio-to-radio cloning using optional clone cable Cloning Instructions: 1.Connect radio used as clone source, and radio to be cloned onto, using clone cable; 2.Press [MENU] and [PTT] to turn on transc e i v e r. Display should read "COPY" 3.Press [MENU] again. Indicator LED on source radio will flash red. Indicator LED on receiving radio will flash green. 4.When indicator LEDs on both radios go out, clone is complete. Radio will self-restart.
