1. Introduction Mem or yDr ive is a sm all and sim ple plug- n- play m obile flash m em ory device for Window s ,Mac OS and Linux which ut ilizes a st andard USB port . Mem oryDrive operat es as a rem ovable hard driv e on your com puter. Mem or yDr ive does not r equir e soft w ar e dr iv er s* ( for Window s 98, dr iv er inst allat ion is required) . Mem or yDr ive allow s for t he dat a t o be easily t r ansfer r ed acr oss differ ent OS plat form s ( i.e.

Dr ive r I nst a lla t ion for W indow s 9 8 / SE ( Aut oSe t up Pa ck a ge ) 4.1 Befor e inst allat ion of t he dr iv er s, check fir st t hat t he USB cont r oller of your com put er is working well. Open t h e [ Cont r ol Pan el] à [ Sy st em Pr oper t ies] à [ Dev ice Manager ] , t hen check if it show s “ Univ er sal Ser ial Bus cont r oller s” and see if t hey are in good w or k ing condit ion. I f y our com put er does not hav e USB cont r oller , t hen t he USB dev ice will not work. 4.

Driver I nst allat ion for W indow s 9 8 / SE ( Ba sic Pa ck a ge ) 5. 1 I nser t t he supplied CD- ROM inst allat ion soft w ar e in t he PC CD- ROM drive, and plug t h e Mem or y Dr iv e int o PC’s USB port . A “ USB Device has been found” m essage and t he follow ing dialog box “ Add New Har dw ar e Wizar d” w ill show up ont o your scr een. Then pr ess “ Next ”. 5. 2 Dialog box shows how Windows searches for t he Mem oryDrive Choose “ Search for t he best driver. . .
. 3 5. 4 Dialog box show s w here t o locat e t he Mem oryDrive drivers. Select it em “ CD- ROM drive” . Press “ Next ” but t on. Dialog box shows t hat Window s has locat ed t h e Mem oryDrive driver in CD- ROM drive. I f inst allat ion is t o be cont inued, press “ Nex t ” but t on.
5. 5 Dialog box shows t hat Windows has finished t he inst allat ion of t h e Mem ory Drive driver. Press “ Finish” but t on. 5. 6 Now all t he drivers and cont rollers have been inst alled int o your syst em. You should see t he Rem ovable Disk icon appearing in t he window when you act iv at e t h e “ My Com put er” icon. You ar e r eady t o easily t r ansfer dat a bet w een y our Mem oryDrive and com put er.
6 . H ow t o u se ? Th e Mem ory Drive funct ions as a rem ovable disk drive on your com put er. When y ou inser t the Mem oryDrive t o t he USB port of your PC or Mac, t hen t he “ rem ovable disk” icon will appear in t he “ My Com put er Folder” . You can use t he Mem or yDr ive t he sam e w ay as a Floppy disk or a Har d dr iv e on your com puter. When you pull out t he Mem or yDr ive fr om t he USB port , t he above icon w ill disappear.
7 . X - For m a t ( x For m a t .e x e ) 7.1 Open xForm at window, you can choice t w o t ype for m at as follow ing. [ Pic. ( a) ] 1) Quick Form at : I t 's called Logical Form at like Windows Form at . 2) Full Form at : I t 's called Physical Form at , in case of Full Form at , cleaning all sect or of t he m em ory. 7.4 I f y ou check “ Make boot able disk” opt ion and form at , you can use in place of Floppy Disket t e( or Boot able CD- ROM et c) . But if you w ant t o use t his funct ion, “ USB- ZI P” m ust be in Boot able sect ion of CMOS( ROM- BI OS) . For m ore inform at ion please ask each PC m ainboard m anufact ures. ( We cannot solve t his problem .) * Boot able funct ion is only for Windows 98/ 98SE/ ME.

X - Ke y ( x Ke y .e x e ) 8.1 X- Key Program is device lock securit y program which prot ect t he approach from t he out side in case of im port ant files t hat need preservat ion in USB Mass St or age Dev ice. 8.2 For using X- Key Pr ogr am , y ou hav e t o for m at aft er select 'Enable passw or d feat ure' opt ion in X- Form at . ( Refer t o 7. for how t o use X- Form at .) 8.
9 . X - File Se cu r it y 9.1 X- File Securit y Program is t he dat a securit y program which t ransform s t he im port ant files needed secur it y int o encoded files. 9.2 Usage is v er y sim ple. Use as copy of files bet w een Or iginal w indow and Encrypt ion window. I f you encode a file, t he file is encoded and t he encoded file w ill be cr eat ed at subj ect folder . On t he cont r ar y , if t he encoded file is decoded, t he decoded file will be creat ed at subj ect folder. 9.

For decoding, click ⑨’Decoding ’ but t on or double click aft er select files.
1 0 . Ca ut ions for using t he M e m or y Drive 10.1 When r em ov ing t he Mem ory Drive from t he USB port , please ensure t hat t h e Red light on t he Mem ory Drive Drive is not flashing. This will ensur e t hat y our dat a on t he dev ice is not lost . This should be check ed ev en if t he dialog box on your com put er show s t hat t hat t he dat a t r ansfer is finished. 10.
