WARNING
When using the SNYPEX binocular, never point it directly at the sun.
The heat generated by the focused rays of the sun may cause serious
damage to your eyes and to the optical elements of the binocular.
TO CLEAN YOUR BINOCULAR, FOLLOW THESE STEPS:
1. Before attempting to clean any of the lenses, carefully remove with
a soft lens brush or canned air all grit, sand, dirt, dust, or other
substances which may scratch the surfaces of the optics. Then use
soft lens cleaning tissues, a lint-free cotton cloth, or a clean cotton
swab.
22. For materials that remain on the lenses, use a lens cleaning solution
(i.e. a commercial optical lens cleaner or household window cleaner)
to remove grease, etc. Dispense the solution onto a cloth or swab
and then apply light pressure to remove the foreign substance with
soft circular motions of the cloth or swab.
Note: excessive pressure used when cleaning dirty lenses (i.e.
rubbing gritty dirt into the lens surfaces) may damage coatings.
Use a light touch Use a light touch.
3. Once foreign substances have been removed from the lens surfaces,
breathe onto the lenses to apply vapor. Before the moisture
evaporates, gently polish the lens surfaces with a clean cotton cloth
or lens cleaning cloth.
TRIPOD ADAPTER FITTING
SNYPEX Knight ED Binoculars feature a threaded socket for a
tripod attachment. This is located at the base of the binoculars
hinge. Insert a binoculars tripod adapter and attach your tripod
screw to the base of the adapter.
WATERPROOF / FOGPROOF / DUSTPROOF
YYour SNYPEX Knight ED Binoculars are designed and built
utilizing the latest waterproof, fogproof, and dustproof technology.
SNYPEX waterproof models are O-ring sealed for complete
protection. Fogproof protection is achieved from dry nitrogen
purging to remove all internal moisture.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CARE
Your SNYPEX binocular will provide years of trouble-free service
if it if it receives the normal care you would give any fine optical
instrument. Non-waterproof models should not be exposed to
excessive moisture.
1. Store in a cool, dry place.
2. Avoid any extreme shaking or dropping of your binocular
because this may damage the internal optics and prisms.
USING / ADJUSTING THE EYEPIECE
SNYPEX Optic Binoculars feature long eye relief with innovative
multi-position retractable eyepieces to offer comfortable viewing
for all users, whether you wear eyeglasses or not.
If you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses, make sure the retractable
eyepieces are left twisted inward toward the binocular body. If
the the eyepieces are twisted out, it will appear as though you are
looking through a tunnel.
If you do NOT wear eyeglasses or sunglasses, twist the retractable
eyepieces to the desired position in order to see the fulll field of
view. If you do NOT have the eyepieces positioned correctly, you
will see black crescents in your field of view, and do NOT turn
them beyond the factory set stop. Forcing this point will damage
the the eyepiece optics and disable the binoculars functioning. Non-
eyeglass wearers will just use the eyecups in the fully extended
position.
CENTER FOCUS
1. Set the diopter setting to zero and view a distant object.
2. Keep both eyes open at all times.
3. Using a lens cover or your hand, cover the objective (front) lens
of the same side of the binocular that has the diopter setting.
This is usually the right side.
44. Using the Center Focus Lever, focus on a distant object with
fine detail (a wall, tree branches, etc.) until it appears as sharp
as possible.
5. Uncover the objective lens on the diopter side; cover the other
objective lens, and then view the same object.
6. Using the diopter setting adjustment ring, focus on the same
being viewed. Caution should be used as overturning or forcing
the diopter eyepiece can cause damage or cause the eyepiece to
break away from the chassis.
7. Your binocular should be adjusted for your eyes. Focus at any far
or near distance can now be attained by turning the center focus
wheel.
HOW TO ADJUST DISTANCE BETWEEN YOUR EYES
Distance between the eyes varies from person to person. To
achieve perfect alignment of lens to eye, follow these simple
steps:
a Hold the binocular up to your eyes in the normal manner
b Look throught the binocular with both eyes open
c Mc Move the two barrels (halves) up and down until you see a
simple image
DIOPTER ADJUSTMENT
This is located on the right barrel, between the eyecup and the
barrel, and is used to correctly set up and focus the binoculars
for your particular eyesight. It only really needs to be done once
when you first use the binoculars, unless the setting accidentally
mmoves or you share your binoculars with someone else who has
a different setting from yours.
