Intended use This device is intended to enable a user in a nonmedical setting to request assistance by providing a method of activating their home base unit, from within the operating range, in the event of a potential medical emergency.
What is Vibrating Blue? Your Vibrating Blue is an intelligent pendant. Like other pendants, it allows you to press a help button to generate an alarm call when you need help. The Vibrating Blue also provides user confidence by vibrating when your alarm transmission is received by the home base unit.
What is in the package? The package contains this user guide, a Vibrating Blue pendant and a neck chain. Vibrating Blue pendant Neckchain Before first use Ensure the Vibrating Blue is programmed correctly to your home base unit. To test this, press the help button and ensure that it generates an alarm call to the monitoring center. Tell the monitoring centre that you are making a test call and follow their instructions.
It is important to test the Vibrating Blue in all the areas of your home, including the bathroom, basement and garage. Environmental conditions such as furnishings, building structure, presence of moisture or liquid may affect the range of the Vibrating Blue. A help call will NOT be initiated if the Vibrating Blue is activated while out of range of the home base unit. If the Vibrating Blue is not programmed correctly, please contact your supplier.
Wearing the Vibrating Blue in line with this guide is important as it helps to ensure it is in the best position to activate while also helping to reduce the chance of incorrect activations. Please remember to wear your Vibrating Blue at all times when you are at home, including in the shower or bath. You may also wear your Vibrating Blue in bed. This will help to ensure the Vibrating Blue is at hand if you require it at night.
… on a neck chain “Recommended” A neck chain is provided which may be adjusted to ensure the Vibrating Blue is worn within easy reach. Avoid adjusting the length of the chain each time you put the Vibrating Blue on. WARNING – only use the neck chain supplied with the Vibrating Blue as it includes safety break links to reduce the risk of entanglement or injury.
Taking off/Putting on Vibrating Blue Avoid trying to adjust the length of the neck chain each time you take off or put on Vibrating Blue. … as a brooch/clipped to clothing Although not recommended (Should always be around the neck if possible) Vibrating Blue can be worn in either of these orientations using any type of clothing clip or safety pin in order to clip it to the top of a shirt pocket or to shirt/blouse openings etc. The Vibrating Blue should be worn at chest height when using a clothing clip.

Test the Vibrating Blue monthly by pressing the help button. Regularly check the status LED on the Vibrating Blue (see page 17). How it works Vibrating Blue is a simple to use device that includes a help button to enable you to generate a call for help if you require assistance or fall.

Battery replacement The battery will need replacing approximately every 12 to 24 months. When a low battery is indicated the battery should be replaced immediately/as soon as possible. If it is necessary for you to change the battery, the fall detector uses a CR2430 3 Volt lithium battery. NOTE: Dispose of used batteries only in accordance with your local laws and regulations. Do not dispose of in household waste.
To replace the battery 1) To access the battery, turn the battery cover anti-clockwise to the unlocked position, replace the battery then replace and lock the battery cover in a clockwise rotation. 2) NOTE. Insert the new battery with the Positive (+) side facing downwards in the lid. Insert CR2430 battery, positive side down in the lid. Replace the lid and lock clockwise.

When wearing in the bath you should avoid submerging Vibrating Blue in water for longer than a minute. While submerged, the range of Vibrating Blue may be reduced, meaning that the help call may not be received by your home base unit.
What happens if I accidentally press the help button? Vibrating Blue will generate a call to the monitoring center. Tell the operator that you pressed it by accident and do not need assistance. Don’t worry they will be happy to hear from you and it will act as a test of the system. Will Vibrating Blue call for help if I drop it accidentally? Vibrating Blue is unlikely to trigger an alarm when dropped. Can I wear Vibrating Blue in bed? Yes, if you wish you can wear Vibrating Blue in bed.
