The SKY6023/SKY6024 features excellent sound quality with virtually no high- or low-
end roll-off, a non-shorting design which prevents amplifier damage, color-coded right
angle solderless speaker terminals with easy top termination. All volume control sets
include a metal bracket plate, color-coded plastic insert, color-coded knob, wall plate
and mounting screws. The 11-position switch offers 36dB of attenuation with Off, (2)
6dB, (7) 3dB and Full-On settings.
Installation Instructions:
Installation is fairly simple, but there are a few issues you should consider before and
during installation:
• Route the cable into the j-box in a manner which allows for easy access to the
connectors on the control. Note that all the control's connectors are at one end.
• Make sure to use the integral strain reliefs where appropriate when routing the
cable into the j-box.
• Leave enough slack cable in the j-box to ensure easy connection to the volume
control.
• Mark the input and output cables accordingly to eliminate confusion during the
final installation.
• Strip each of the (8) individual wires (4 from the amplifier and 4 to the speakers).
To avoid a short, do not strip the wires more than 1/4 inch.
• Using a #1 flat-blade screwdriver, insert the appropriate wires into the connectors
and tighten securely.
• Carefully insert the control into the j-box making sure that no wires are pinched.
Note that the design of the control allows the cables to exit from the top side of
the connector.
