SPECIFICATION
Sioux Chief 660-TS piston-type water hammer arresters shall be installed
where required on tub/shower valves. Water hammer arresters shall
be specically sized and have sufcient volume of air to dissipate the
calculated kinetic energy generated by closing residential or commercial
tub/shower valves. Arresters shall be installed on both hot and cold supply
inlets of tub/shower valves. Arresters shall be approved for installation with
no access panel required.
MATERIALS
arrester body: Type L copper tube
piston: Polypropylene with two EPDM o-rings
piston lubrication: Dow-Corning, 111 FDA approved silicone compound
WORKING LIMITS
max working temperature: 250°F
max working pressure: 350 PSIG
burst tested to: 2,900 PSIG
CONNECTION
trunk: ½" nominal female sweat
branch: ½" nominal male sweat
INSTALLATION
Sweat solder in place between tub/shower valve and ½" nominal copper
tube supply. Approved for installation with no access panels required. DO
NOT BRAZE.
