ELLIS ENTRANCE SET
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Before you begin, read the installation instructions below. Observe all local building and safety codes.
Unpack and inspect the product for any shipping damages and ensure that none of the required pieces are missing. If
you nd damages, do not install. Contact Customer Service at 1.866.855.2284. If you need assistance or have questions
while installing your door handle and lock set, contact Customer Service.
We recommend consulting a professional if you are unfamiliar with installing hardware xtures. Signature Hardware
accepts no liability for any damage to the handle, lock set, or door, or for personal injury during installation.
TOOLS AND MATERIALS:
Safety glasses
Tape measure Wood chisel
Drill
Screwdriver
Allen wrench
INSTALLATION
1. If replacing an entrance with the same mounting hole specications, move on to step
4.
2. Hold the template (if included) in place and mark the mounting hole locations on the
front, and side of the door. If no template is provided, use the hardware as a guide to
mark the mounting holes.
3. Drill mounting holes according to the specications on the template.
4. Insert the handle latch bolt (B), and deadbolt latch bold (C) into the side of the door
and adjust as necessary to t your installation.
5. If the latch bolt face plates are not ush with the door, carefully chisel out (mortise)
some of the door as necessary.
6. Drill pilot holes, if necessary and secure the face plates to the side of the door with
the provided mounting hardware.
7. Test t the deadbolt cylinder (E) and interior hardware and exterior hardware to gain a
better understanding of how the pieces t together.
8. With all hardware pieces in place, insert and tighten the long screws from the back of
the door. Hold the interior knob of the deadbolt in place, and tighten the small screw
to secure.
9. Use an Allen wrench to loosen the set screw on the interior knob. Adjust the length of
the spindle for your door, and tighten the set screw.
