Chapter 2 RUGGEDCOM WIN5137-V-GPS Installing the Subscriber Unit Installation Guide • Make sure the antenna(s) and subscriber unit are easily accessible for maintenance purposes. • Mount the GPS antenna in a position where the whole sky is visible to the antenna. If the subscriber unit is mounted on a wall and the GPS antenna is mounted on top of the subscriber unit, only half of the sky will be visible to the antenna. This may not be enough for proper operation.
RUGGEDCOM WIN5137-V-GPS Installation Guide Chapter 2 Installing the Subscriber Unit NOTE For detailed dimensions of the subscriber unit, refer to Section 4.6, “Dimension Drawings”. When choosing the mounting location for the unit, consider the available mounting structures and antenna clearance. Site Survey Most wireless networks include many subscriber/base stations installed in various locations in an overlapping radio-cell pattern.
