IV. Operation
Battery installation
Open the battery compartment of the walkie-talkie and
install the batteries (4 AAA alkaline batteries) according to
the marked battery polarity.
Basic operation
1. Power ON and OFF
In the shutdown state, press and hold the key for more
than 2 seconds to turn on the radio. The radio will beep,
and all icons will be displayed on the screen instantly. Then
display the current channel 10/10 (channel/compression
audio)
In the power-on state, press and hold the key for more
than 2S to turn off the radio.
Tips: Etiquette for using wireless walkie-talkies
The 22 channels of your wireless walkie-talkie are shared
with others and used in turn. Other groups may be using
certain channels. In order to not disturb other people's calls,
and have better call quality yourself, please don't use the
channel that others are using.
Try to change the channel to prevent channel blocking or
use theLAMPkey to check the channel activity. If you
hear quiet noise after pressing theLAMP key, it means
that the channel is free, and you can use it.
2. Communication (transmitting and receiving)
When using wireless walkie-talkies to talk to each other, the
walkie-talkies of the same group must be set to the same
channel and interference cancellation mute code (0 to 99).

When the signal is weak, press this
key to enter the monitoring state.
When talking with other groups without interference
cancellation mute code, please set the interference
cancellation mute code to 0.
To improve the clarity of the call, speak about 5 to 7.5 cm
(two to three inches) away from the microphone.
Press and hold the call buttonPTT, when the intercom
is in the transmitting state, speak in a normal tone at a
distance of about 5 to 7.5 cm (two to three inches) inches
from the microphone.
Release the call keyPTTto end the call, the machine
will emit a "boom" ringtone, and the walkie-talkie is in the
receiving state.
Tips: Call Range of this Walkie-Talkie
In order to achieve the best performance and call range of
the walkie-talkie design, it is recommended that you do not
use the walkie-talkie to communicate with others at a close
distance(please stay at least 1.5 meter (five feet) away from
each other). Reference of call distance:
The best call range: flat and open area.
Medium call range: when there are buildings or trees
blocking.
Minimum call range: blocked by dense woods or
mountains, in buildings or vehicles.
3. 8-level digital volume adjustment
In the standby mode, short press thekey, the walkie
-talkie enters the volume adjustmenting mode, the current
volume level is displayed on the screen, press thekey
continuously to adjust the volume to the maximum; short
press thekey, the unit enters the volume adjustment
mode, Presskey continuously to adjust the volume to
the minimum.

Tips: Level 1 has the lowest volume and level 8 has the
highest volume.
4. Key lock function
The key lock function can lock theMENUkey the up and
down buttons▲▼, and the LAMP key. It helps prevent
accidental changes to the settings of the walkie-talkie. Once
locked, you can only use the power key (to turn it on and
off), PTT transmission function, switch on and off function,
and light on and off function.
To activate the key lock function, press and hold the menu
key ( key) for 3 seconds to activate the lock function,
you can see the icon appears on the screen.
5. Monitoring function
In the standby mode, when the signal is weak, long press
theMONkey to turn on the monitoring mode, to tell if
there is a call, the squelch circuit is turned off, and you will
hear background noise (a beep); release theMONkey to
turn off Monitor, you cannot hear background noise.
6. Scanning function
Long press theLAMP key, the walkie-talkie will
automatically detect the activity of channel 22, when the
scanned channel has a signal, the walkie-talkie will
automatically stop on this channel for conversation.
1) The walkie-talkie will stop on the channel with signal.
5 seconds after the signal disappear, it will continue to
scan the next channel.
7. MINI flashlight function
This machine has a MINI flashlight lighting function, which
greatly facilitates the user to use at night or in a poorly lit

10. Do not use walkie-talkies with a damaged antenna, as
the damaged antenna may cause slight burns on the
contacted skin.
11. Do not expose the walkie-talkie to direct sunlight for a
long period of time or put it near the heating devices.
12. When the portable walkie-talkie is transmitting, keep the
walkie-talkie
in a vertical position and keep the microphone about 2
inches away from the mouth.
13. Keep the walkie-talkie antenna at least 1 inch away from
the head or body when transmitting.
14. If you wear a portable walkie-talkie on your body, please
make sure that the antenna is at least 1 inch away from your
body when the walkie-talkie is transmitting.

Safety Information for Radios
Your wireless handheld portable transceiver contains a low
power transmitter. When the talk button is pushed, it sends
out radio frequency (RF) signals. The device is authorized to
operate at a duty factor not to exceed 50%. In August 1996,
the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) adopted
RF exposure guidelines with safety levels for handheld
wireless devices.
Important
FCC RF Exposure Requirements: For body-worn operation,
this radio has been tested and meets the FCC RF exposure
guidelines when used with accessories supplied or designated
for this product. Use of other accessories may not ensure
compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines. Use only the
supplied antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications or
attachments could damage the transmitter and may violate
FCC regulations.
Normal Position
Hold the transmitter approximately 25 mm from your face
and speak in a normal voice, with theantenna pointed up

environment. In the power-on state, short press the
LAMPkey to turn on the flashlight function, and the
flashlight light will stay on; short press theLAMP key
again to turn off the flashlight function.
8. Battery level display
There is a battery indicator in the upper right corner of
the display to show the battery level. When the voltage
drops to a preset value, the walkie-talkie will automatically
shut down to protect the battery. When the battery level
is indicated, the two-way radio will play sound alert every 10
minutes or every time you release the call button to remind
you to replace the battery or charge.
Advanced operation
1. Set the working channel
1.1 In standby mode, press the MENUkey once to enter
the channel selection menu, and the current channel
number (the big number in the middle of the screen) starts
to flash;
1.2 Press orkey to set a new channel number;
1.3 Press theMENUkey to enter the next menu, or
press thePTTkey to save the new setting and exit to the
normal operation mode.
Note: This machine has 22 channels, the channel
number is 1-22.
2. CTCSS code selection
CTCSS code allows you to choose different code
combinations to minimize interference. The setting steps are
as follows:
2.1 In the standby state, press theMENUkey twice to
enter the CTCSS anti-interference code setting, the LCD
screen displays the current code number and flashes, and
the CTCSS icon lights up;
2.2 Pressorkey to select 1-38 (CTCSS);
2.3 After selection, press MENUkey to confirm and
enter the next menu, or pressPTTkey to save the new
setting and exit to normal operation mode.
Tips:You can set a special interference cancellation
mute code for each channel. When talking with other
groups without interference cancellation mute code,
please set the interference cancellation mute code to OF.

3. DCS Code Selection
The DCS code allows you to choose different code
combinations to minimize interference. The setting steps are
as follows:
3.1 In the standby state, press theMENUkey twice to
enter the DCS anti-interference code setting, the LCD
screen displays the current code number and flashes, and
the DCS icon lights up;
3.2 Pressorkey to select from 39-99 (DCS);
3.3 After selection, press MENUkey to confirm and
enter the next menu, or pressPTTkey to save the new
setting and exit to normal operation mode.
Tips: The interference cancellation mute codes of this
machine include CTCSS (analog sub-audio) and DCS
(digital sub-audio).
4. VOX voice control settings
VOX voice control allows you to communicate without
pressing the TALKlaunch button, it can be invoked by talking.
When you stop talking, the walkie-talkie will automatically
stop transmitting and wait for reception. The setting steps
are as follows:
4.1 In standby mode, press the MENU key 3 times to
enter the VOX voice control function setting, the LCD screen
displays VOX;
4.2 Pressorkey to select: OFF/1/2/3;
4.3 After selection, press MENUkey to confirm and enter
the next menu, or pressPTTkey to save the new setting
and exit to normal operation mode.
Tips: After turning on the VOX voice control function,
the screen will display the VOX icon. According to the

noise of the use environment, select the parameters
appropriately:
3=High sensitivity, use under low background noise
2=Medium sensitivity, suitable for most applications
1=Low sensitivity, use under high background noise
Note: It is recommended for you to not use VOX in noisy
or windy environments.
5. DCS Code Selection
The call function is used for notifying the members of the
walkie-talkie group that someone wants to speak. Press the
key, the users in the group with the same settings will hear
your calling tone. This wireless walkie-talkie has 10 types of
calling tones to choose from, the setting steps are as follows:
5.1 In the standby mode, press the
MENUkey 4 times to enter the
call tone selection, the LCD screen
displays and the current call tone
type, and the current call tone type
sequence flashes;
5.2 Pressorkey to select CALL tone type, 01-10;
5.3 Press theMENUkey to confirm and enter the next
menu, or press thePTTkey to save the new setting and
exit to the normal operation mode.
6. Keypad Tone Settings
This function allows you to the turn on/off the keypad tone.
Steps are as follows:
6.1 In standby mode, press the
MENUkey 5 times to enter the
key tone switch setting, the LCD
screen displays, ON/OFF flashes;

6.2 Pressorkey to select TONE to turn on
(ON) or turn off (OFF);
6.3 After selection, press MENUkey to confirm and
enter the next menu, or pressPTTkey to save the new
setting and exit to normal operation mode.
7. Roger Tone
Once you turn on the Roger Tone function, when you end
the call, the walkie-talkie will emit a unique sound to let
others know that you have finished speaking. The setting
steps are as follows:
7.1 In standby mode, press
MENUkey 6 times to enter
RogerTone switch selection:
LCD screen displays ,
ON/OFF flashes;
7.2 Pressorkey to select RogerTone tone on
(ON) or off (OFF);
7.3 After selection, pressMENUkey to confirm and enter
the next menu, or pressPTTkey to save the new setting
and exit to normal operation mode.
