Regulations,Title29,1910.1200,oftheOccupationalSafetyandHealthAct,
MSDSarerequiredforchemicalsubstancesusedintheworkplace.Materials
whichareformedtoaspecificshapeanddesignduringtheirmanufactureandhave
endusesbasedonthatshapeanddesign,arenotdefinedaschemicalsunderthe
Act.Sincecarpet,pad/underlayment,laminate,hardwood,resilientandceramictile
meetthisdefinition,MSDSarenotrequiredfortheseitems.Itwouldbe
substantiallymisleading,bothscientificallyandpractically,totranslateMSDS
informationfortheUndilutedconcentrateofaparticularchemicalasbeingan
indicationofdangerfromthequantityofthatchemicalfoundinafinishedflooring.

