The camcorder normally records audio in the 12-bit audio recording mode. For higher-quality audio recording, select the 16-bit audio recording mode.
Setting the Digital Zoom You can select from among four different zoom ranges: 1-26x (optical zoom), 26-50x (digital zoom), 26-100x (digital zoom) or 26-780x (digital zoom). You can record still images of subjects with normal sound on a tape by selecting one of two still recording modes. Press the MENU/DISPLAY turn off the menu screen. Useful Features Camera Recording Auto Focus Using the Remote The camcorder is preset to Auto Focus mode, which is designed to focus on most types of subjects. In Auto Focus mode, the camcorder automatically focuses on whatever is in the center of the scene. Always keep the subject in the center of the scene. Use the supplied remote control to operate the camcorder from a distance, such as when you want to record yourself in a scene, or when the camcorder is connected to a TV for use as a VCR.

Playback Functions Remote Control with the Frame Advance The frame advance function allows you to play back still images frame by frame. These playback functions can be operated using the supplied remote control.
