New functions may be added to the handset or the operation method may change by upgrading the OS version. Check the DOCOMO website for the latest information on these additions and changes. Handling the handset, adapters and docomo nano UIM card (general) Precautions (ALWAYS FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS) Before use, read these "Precautions" carefully and use your handset properly. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference. These precautions contain information intended to prevent bodily injury to the user and to surrounding people, as well as damage to property, and must be observed at all times.

When connecting an external connector device to the external connector terminal or earphone/microphone terminal, do not put it in obliquely and do not pull it while it is plugged in. Precautions Waterproof/Dustproof When your hands are wet or water/foreign object adheres to the handset, do not open/close the docomo nano UIM card/microSD Card slot cover. Close the docomo nano UIM card/microSD Card slot cover securely. ■ Internal battery usable life Charging Internal battery is a consumable product. Battery life per charge is gradually reduced every time the battery is charged. When battery life per charge is reduced to approximately half of the default time, this means that the internal battery is approaching the end of its usable life. In this case, it is recommended to replace the battery as soon as possible.
Power plug 100V AC outlet ■ Turning power off forcibly You can forcibly turn the power off if the screen does not respond or the power cannot be turned off. Power plug 1 The display is turned off when H is pressed or the handset is not in use for a set length of time. Press H while the display is turned off to turn it on.
Operation while using function Cautions when using the touch panel The touch panel is designed to be lightly touched with your finger. Do not forcefully press with your finger or a pointed object (fingernail, ballpoint pen, pin, etc.). In the following cases, the touch panel may not work even if you touch it. May cause a malfunction.

Emergency mode Keyboard layouts You can save the internal battery by restricting settings and functions on the handset. 1 You can use the following two types of the keyboards. H (for at least 1 second)/[Emergency mode]/[OK] : The handset restarts and it switches to Emergency mode. QWERTY keyboard You can enter a displayed character by touching the character entry key. Use romaji for entry. 12 keyboard Several characters are assigned to one character entry key.
5 Symbol key Display the pictogram/Deco-mail pictogram/symbol/emoticon list. ・ You cannot enter these symbols in some apps. Slide to the right to display Quote apps list. 6 Katakana and alphabet key Display katakana of the entered characters or conversion candidates (katakana and alphabet conversion candidates) of alphabets or symbols assigned to a touched key. Slide to the right to display Quote apps list. 7 Undo key Undo the previous operation. 8 Setting key Display setting menu.

■ Inputting with voices Initial settings You can enter characters with voices. 1 When you turn the power on for the first time, the initial settings screen is displayed. Follow the instructions on the screen and set. The following items can be set. However, items to be displayed may differ depending on the Google account settings. Language setting Wi-Fi settings (nP.23 "Wi-Fi settings") Google account settings by Tap & Go Google account settings (nP.24 "Setting up Google account etc.

[Handover] [USB tethering] You can set it only when Wi-Fi frequency band is set to [5 GHz only] or [2.4 GHz only] and Simultaneous use mode setting is set to [Setting OFF]. The tethering function is available on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Linux. 4 Clear all Delete the detailed information on notifications and notification icons. Depending on the content of detailed information on notification, it cannot be deleted. 5 Signal status Check the signal status. 6 Battery level Check the battery usage etc. by touching it while function buttons after second line are being displayed. 7 Settings Activate the "Settings" app.
Favorites Touch and hold it and drag it to another app such as the "Email" app while the app is running to copy characters, images, etc. and paste them. 3 Controller The following operations are available with displayed keys.

Data Storage Box is a service which enables you to upload necessary files and easily manage them in cloud computing. Schedule An app to create and manage schedules (nP.60 "Schedule").
Installing recommended apps My magazine Apps recommended by DOCOMO are displayed when you touch the Recommends button of the app list screen. 1 In the home screen, [R]/[Recommends] 2 Select an app This is a search service to display articles of genres you choose. The more you use it, the more it makes the settings come to match your preferences by guessing your preferences from the history of articles you have read or from information on your profile.
Entering touch-tone signals Call When using services in which you are required to enter numbers additionally during a call, such as inquiry about the balance in your bank account or ticket reservation, enter pause (,)/wait (;) after entering a phone number to make a call with an additional number added to the main phone number. You can use the phone and phonebook, and make settings for call, voice/answering memo, operations available when calls are received, etc.

Checking/Using phonebook Phonebook You can retrieve registered contacts from the phonebook to make calls and send mails. You can manage phonebook data of "docomo account" in cloud computing or check My profile.

The following data can be backed up to/restored from Data Storage Box. When you use Backup/restore to microSD, only the data saved on the handset memory are backed up. The data saved on a microSD Card are not backed up.
Handset Settings Profile You can display your phone number registered on the docomo nano UIM card and register a name, mail address, etc. Setting menu 1 2 3 In the home screen, [R]/[Settings] to display the menu and make various settings for the handset. [When device is locked] Display The following items can be set. Show all notification content: Set to display the notifications in the lock screen. Hide sensitive notification content: Set not to display details such as the other party's phone number or the number of notifications in the lock screen. ・ You can use this item when Screen lock is set to an item other than [None] or [Swipe or Touch]. Don't show notification at all: Set not to display the notifications in the lock screen.
VeilView 5 You can prevent others from seeing the display. 1 In the home screen, [R]/[Settings]/ [Display]/[VeilView] 2 Select an item 1 2 3 VeilView: Set whether to enable VeilView. Switching by motion: Set whether to make VeilView able to be enabled/disabled by putting your hand over the upper part of the display side for approximately 2 seconds. Pattern setting: Set the display pattern. Density setting: Make an adjustment for the effect (shading) to prevent others from seeing the display.
Continuation of last connection mode: Set whether to continue to use the previous connection mode. Storage You can check the available space on a microSD Card, the handset, etc., manage files, etc. 1 2 When you transfer a great deal of data, the transference may be interrupted. In this case, split the data into several files and send them separately.
