System Connections MD-E9000H ■ Aerial connection Supplied FM aerial: Connect the FM aerial wire to the FM 75 OHMS socket and position it in the direction where the strongest signal can be received. Supplied AM loop aerial: Note: Placing the aerial on the unit or near the AC power lead may cause noise pickup. Place the aerial away from the unit for better reception.
■ Battery installation ■ Test of the remote control 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert the batteries according to the direction indicated in the battery compartment. When inserting or removing the batteries, push them towards the ë terminals. 3. Replace the cover. Face the remote control directly to the remote sensor on the unit. General Control MD-E9000H ■ Demonstration mode The first time the unit is plugged in, the unit will enter the demonstration mode. You will see words scroll. To cancel the demonstration mode: When the unit is in the power stand-by mode (demonstration mode), press the DISPLAY (DEMO) button. The unit will enter the low power consumption mode. ■ To turn the power on Press the ON/STAND-BY button. To set the unit to stand-by mode: Press the ON/STAND-BY button again.

Direct Play Repeat or Random Play MD-E9000H You can select the CD or MD playback mode; “Repeat play”, “Random play” and “Normal play”. The track name will be displayed. - Switching the Display - Advanced CD/MD Playback Each time the DISPLAY (DEMO) button on the main unit or the DISPLAY/CHARACTER button on the remote control is pressed during MD playback, the display will change. “NO NAME” is displayed if the track is not named. The level meter is displayed.

Manual tuning: Auto tuning: Notes: ● This can be operated by using the remote control only. ● When radio interference occurs, auto scan tuning may stop automatically at that point. ● Auto scan tuning will skip weak signal stations.

Using the Radio Data System (RDS) (continued) Whilst in the ASPM operation mode, the tuner will automatically search for new RDS stations. Up to 40 stations can be stored. If you have already stored some stations in memory, the number of new stations you can store will be less. 1 Press the TUNER (BAND) button repeatedly to select “FM”. 2 Press and hold down the ASPM button for at least 3 seconds. 1. Tune in to an RDS station (when a station name is displayed). 6 Press the EON button when “EON” appears. ● “PTY TI” will flash for about 4 seconds. ● If the EON button is pressed when “EON” is not displayed, “NO EON” will appear for 4 seconds to indicate that the unit cannot enter the EON standby mode.

Before Recording to a MiniDisc ■ Differences from tape recordings ■ About track numbers You cannot record music on the reverse side of a MiniDisc. MiniDiscs are single sided and should only be inserted with the correct side up. When recording from a CD New track numbers will be created automatically according to the original tracks (Synchro mark function).
