LP Deliveries need to be made as quickly and efficiently as possible. Using
EnerTrac’s 5922 Propane Monitor significantly helps delivery efficiency, but only if
our signal can be heard. Proper placement of our transmitter is critical for the
system to work. When placed on the shoulder of a 120-gallon vertical tank, the
transmitter may only be heard once or twice over the course of a few days. By
placing the transmitter vertically on the top, it can be heard once an hour, every
day.
Vertical tanks: Be sure to put all transmitters vertically on top of the cover, securing to plastic covers with
screws if needed.
Horizontal tanks have similar concerns. The ideal placement of the transmitter should be on the top of the
dome cover. If that’s not possible, the transmitter needs to be located as far away from the dome cover as
possible as the dome cover acts as a barrier to our signal. The transmitter must never be placed inside a
dome.
Remember when routing the transmitter wiring, be sure not to locate it so that opening or closing the dome acts
like scissors and cuts the wire.
