How to use the SPC-2PX Safe School Cobra Lock:
The lock is programmed by computer. While only toggle proximity credentials should be used,
any credential will function as a toggle credential when presented.
Normal Use:
Authorized credentials will toggle the door unlocked or locked. Each time a credential is present-
ed to the inside or outside reader the lock will reverse its condition and the YELLOW LED on the
inside and outside will flash rapidly for five seconds.
EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN MODE:
To enter emergency Lockdown Mode the door must be closed and an authorized credential must
be presented. During the five second period that the YELLOW LED is flashing the panic button
must be pushed. The RED LED on the inside will flash slowly for several seconds. The LEDs on
the outside will be extinguished so as to not draw attention to the door. As soon as the panic but-
ton is pushed the lock will go into lockdown - even if it is toggled unlocked it will lock immediate-
ly. If an authorized normal, toggle, or one-time credential is presented to either the interior or
exterior reader during Lockdown Mode, the interior and exterior RED LEDs will flash nine times
rapidly to assure that the lock is still in Lockdown Mode. If the panic button on the inside is
pressed while in Lockdown Mode the interior RED LED will flash slowly for six seconds.
TO CLEAR EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN MODE:
1. Opening the door will cancel Lockdown Mode but leave the door locked until it is toggled
open.
2. Entering a Pass-Thru/Superuser credential or a Lockout Credential followed by a normal use
credential will unlock the lock for five seconds but return it to the locked condition. Lockdown
Mode will be cancelled if the door is opened unless the panic button is pressed again (with the
door closed).
Important!
Door must be closed to enter any prox credential or for pushing the button to be effective.
It must also be closed in order to program the lock.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for
compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
