Important Warranty Information Regarding Television Format Viewing Wide screen format PDP Displays (16:9, the aspect ratio of the screen width to height) are primarily designed to view wide screen format full-motion video. The images displayed on them should primarily be in the wide screen 16:9 ratio format, or expanded to fill the screen if your model offers this feature and the images are constantly moving.
User Instructions Screen Image retention Do not display a still image (such as on a video game) on the plasma display panel for more than several minutes as it can cause screen image retention. This image retention is also known as “screen burn”. To avoid such image retention, refer to page 26 of this manual to reduce the degree of brightness and contrast of the screen when displaying a still image. Altitude The PDP can only operate normally at heights under 6500ft.

Viewing the Control Panel Buttons on the Lower-Right Part of the Panel The buttons on the lower-right panel control your TV’s basic features, including the on-screen menu. To use the more advanced features, you must use the remote control. ➢ The product color and shape may vary depending on the model. 1 SOURCE Toggles between all the available input sources (TV, AV1, AV2, S-Video1, S-Video2, Component1, Component2, PC, HDMI1, HDMI2, or HDMI3).
Viewing the Connection Panel Rear Panel Jacks Use the rear panel jacks to connect A/V components that will be connected continuously, such as VCR or DVD players. For more information on connecting equipment, see pages 9-14. The product color and shape may vary depending on the model. 1 POWER IN Connect the supplied power cord. 2 DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) Connect to a Digital Audio component. 3 AUDIO OUT (R/L) Audio outputs to external devices. 4 PC AUDIO IN Connect to the audio output jack on your PC.
Remote Control You can use the remote control up to a distance of about 23 feet from the TV. When using the remote, always point it directly at the TV. You can also use your remote control to operate your VCR, Cable box, DVD player, or Set-Top Box. 1 POWER Turns the TV on and off. ( 2 NUMERIC BUTTONS Press to directly select a channel. 3 – Press to select additional channels (digital and analog) being broadcast by the same station.
Installing Batteries in the Remote Control 1 2 3 ➢ Lift the cover at the back of the remote control upward as shown in the figure. Install two AAA size batteries. ➢ Make sure to match the “+” and “–” ends of the batteries with the diagram inside the compartment. ➢ Do not mix battery types, i.e. alkaline and manganese. Close the cover as shown in the figure. ➢ Remove the batteries and store them in a cool, dry place if you won’t be using the remote control for a long time.
Connecting Cable TV To connect to a cable TV system, follow the instructions below. Cable without a Cable Box 1 Plug the incoming cable into the ANT 2 IN(CABLE) terminal on the back of the TV. ➢ Because this TV is cable-ready, you do not need a cable box to view unscrambled cable channels. ANT 2 IN (CABLE) Connecting to a Cable Box that Descrambles All Channels 1 2 Find the cable that is connected to the ANT OUT terminal on your cable box.
Connecting a VCR Video Connection These instructions assume that you have already connected your TV to an antenna or a cable TV system (according to the instructions on pages 9~10). Skip step 1 if you have not yet connected to an antenna or a cable system. 1 Unplug the cable or antenna from the back of the TV. 2 Connect the cable or antenna to the ANT IN terminal on the back of the VCR.
Connecting a Camcorder The side panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a camcorder to your TV. They allow you to view the camcorder tapes without using a VCR 1 2 Connect a Video Cable (or S-Video Cable) between the AV IN 2 [VIDEO] (or S-VIDEO) jack on the TV and the VIDEO OUT jack on the Camcorder. Connect Audio Cables between the AV IN 2 [L-AUDIO-R] jacks on the TV and the AUDIO OUT jacks on the Camcorder.
Connecting a DVD Player/Cable Box/Satellite receiver (Set-Top Box) via HDMI This connection can only be made if there is an HDMI Output jack on the external device. This connection will provide the highest quality picture. 1 Connect an HDMI Cable between the HDMI IN 2 on the TV and the HDMI OUT on the DVD Player/Cable Box/ Satellite receiver (Set-Top Box).
Connecting a Digital Audio System The rear panel jacks on your TV make it easy to connect a Digital Audio System to your TV. Digital Audio System 1 Connect an Optical Cable between the DIGITAL AUDIO TV Rear Panel OUT (OPTICAL) jacks on the TV and the Digital Audio Input (OPTICAL) jacks on the Digital Audio System. When a Digital Audio System is connected to the “DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL)” jack: Decrease the gain (volume) of the TV, and adjust the volume level with the system’s volume control.
Operation Turning the TV On and Off Press the POWER button on the remote control. You can also use the POWER button on the TV. ➢ It may take a while when your TV starts. Plug & Play Feature When the TV is initially powered On, basic settings proceed automatically and subsequently: 1 2 Press the POWER button on the remote control. 5 The TV will begin memorizing all of the available channels. After all the available channels are stored, the Auto program menu reappears. Changing Channels Using the Channel Buttons 1 Press the CH or CH button to change channels. ➢ When you press the CH or CH button, the TV changes channels in sequence. You will see all the channels that the TV has memorized. (The TV must have memorized at least three channels). You will not see channels that were either erased or not memorized. See page 19 to memorize channels. Using the Number Buttons 1 Press the number buttons to go directly to a channel.
Viewing the Display The display identifies the current channel and the status of certain audio-video settings. 1 Press the INFO button on the remote control. The TV will display the channel, the type of sound, and the status of certain picture and sound settings. Press the INFO button once more or wait approximately 10 seconds and it disappears automatically. Memorizing the Channels Your TV can memorize and store all of the available channels for both air and cable channels. After the available channels are memorized, use the CH or CH button to scan through the channels. This eliminates the need to change channels by entering the channel digits. There are three steps for memorizing channels: selecting a broadcast source, memorizing the channels (automatic) and adding and deleting channels (manual).
Setting Up Your Remote Control After your remote control has been properly set up, your remote control can operate in five different modes: TV, VCR, Cable, DVD, or Set-Top Box. Pressing the corresponding button on the remote control allows you to switch among these modes, and control whichever piece of equipment you choose. ➢ The remote control might not be compatible with all DVD Players, VCRs, Cable boxes, and Set-Top Boxes. Picture Control Using Automatic Picture Settings Your new Plasma TV gives you optimal control over the picture you’re watching. You can change the screen size, improve the image quality, even watch something else without turning off what you’re currently watching. Please be aware that the best picture on this TV will be obtained from High Definition (HD) sources such as Digital cable or DVD players.

Changing the Screen Size Occasionally, you may want to change the size of the image on your screen. Your TV comes with six screen size options, each designed to work best with specific types of video input. Your cable box or satellite receiver may have its own set of screen sizes as well. Viewing Picture-in-Picture This product has one built-in tuner, which does not allow PIP to function in the same mode. For example, you cannot watch one TV channel in the main screen, and a different one in the PIP screen. Please see ‘PIP Settings’ below for details. PC Display Using Your TV as a Computer (PC) Display Setting Up Your PC Software (Based on Windows XP) The Windows display-settings for a typical computer are shown below. The actual screens on your PC will probably be different, depending upon your particular version of Windows and your particular video card. However, even if your actual screens look different, the same basic set-up information will apply in almost all cases. (If not, contact your computer or Video Card manufacturer.
Setting up the TV with your PC Use the Auto Adjust function to have the TV set automatically adjust the video signals it receives from the PC. The function also automatically fine-tunes the settings and adjusts the frequency values and positions. How to Auto Adjust 1 2 TV Press the MENU button to display the menu. Time Setting Setting the Time Setting the clock is necessary in order to use the various timer features of the TV. Also, you can check the time while watching the TV. Reducing the Effects of Screen Burn If screen burn has occurred, you can select a white screen or scrolling to help remove screen burn artifacts. 1 Press the MENU button to display the menu. WISELINK Using the WISELINK Function This function enables you to view and listen to photo (BASELINE, JPEG) and audio files (MP3) saved on a USB Mass Storage Class device. Insert a USB device containing JPEG and/or MP3 files into the WISELINK jack (USB jack) on the side of the TV. Using the Options Menu Slide Show: Starts a slide show. (Refer to Viewing a Slide Show on page 59) Rotate: You can rotate images in full screen mode. Images are rotated in the order of 90°, 180°, 270° and 0° (original state). (Refer to Rotating on page 61) ➢ ➢ You cannot save a rotated image. It may take long time to rotate the large-size file. Zoom: You can zoom into images in full screen mode. Images are zoomed in the order of X2, X4 and X1 (original size).

Conectando uma TV a cabo Para conectar o sistema de TV a cabo, siga as instruções a seguir. Cabo sem um decodificador 1 Conecte o cabo de entrada ao terminal ANT 2 IN (CABLE) na parte traseira da TV. ➢ Você não necessita de um decodificador para visualizar os canais a cabo decodificados. ANT 2 IN (CABLE) Conectando um decodificador que decodifica todos os canais 1 2 Localize o cabo conectado ao terminal ANT OUT no decodificador.
Conectando um VCR Conexão de vídeo Estas instruções presumem que você já tenha conectado a TV a uma antena ou sistema de TV a cabo (conforme instruções nas páginas 9~10). Ignore a etapa 1 se você ainda não tiver feito a conexão à antena ou ao sistema a cabo. 1 Desconecte o cabo ou antena da parte traseira da TV. 2 Conecte o cabo ou a antena ao terminal ANT IN na parte traseira do VCR. 3 Conecte um cabo de antena entre o terminal ANT OUT no VCR e o terminal ANT 1 IN (AIR) ou ANT 2 IN (CABLE) na TV.
Conectando uma Camcorder (Filmadora) Os jaques do painel lateral na TV facilitam a conexão da camcorder com a sua TV. Eles permitem que você visualize as fitas da camcorder sem utilizar um VCR. 1 2 Conecte um cabo de vídeo (ou cabo S-Video) entre a tomada AV IN 2 [VIDEO] (ou S-VIDEO) na TV e a tomada VIDEO OUT na camcorder. Conecte os cabos de áudio entre as tomadas AV IN 2 [L-AUDIO-R] na TV e as tomadas AUDIO OUT na camcorder.
Conectando um DVD player/decodificador/receptor de satélite (Set-Top) via HDMI Esta conexão só pode ser efetuada se existir uma tomada de saída HDMI no dispositivo externo. Esta conexão oferece a mais alta qualidade de imagem. 1 Conecte um cabo HDMI entre o HDMI IN 2 na TV e o HDMI OUT no DVD player/ decodificador/receptor de satélite (Set-Top).
Como conectar o Sistema Áudio-Digital As tomadas do painel traseiro na TV facilitam a conexão do Sistema Áudio-Digital com a sua TV. 1 Conecte um cabo óptico Sistema Áudio-Digital entre as tomadas DIGITAL Painel traseiro da TV AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) na TV e as tomadas Digital Audio Input (OPTICAL) no Sistema Áudio-Digital. Quando o Sistema ÁudioDigital está conectado ao terminal “DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL)”: Diminua o ganho (volume) da TV e ajuste o nível do volume com o controle de volume do sistema.
Operação Ligando e desligando a TV Pressione o botão POWER no controle remoto. Você também pode utilizar o botão POWER na TV. ➢ Sua TV pode demorar um pouco para iniciar. Recurso Plug & Play Quando a TV é ligada, as definições básicas realizam-se automaticamente, na seguinte seqüência: 1 2 Pressione o botão POWER no controle remoto. A mensagem “Menu language, Shop Mode, Channels and Time will be set.” será exibida. Pressione o botão ENTER e o menu Selecionar idioma para OSD será exibido.
5 A TV começará a memorizar todos os canais disponíveis. Depois que todos os canais disponíveis são armazenados, o menu Prog. Auto reaparece. Pressione o botão ENTER quando a memorização dos canais terminar. Ajustar data e hora atuais é exibido. ➢ Para interromper a busca antes de terminar, pressione o botão ENTER com “Parar” selecionado. Alterando canais Utilizando os botões de canais 1 Pressione o botão CH ou CH para mudar os canais. ➢ Quando você pressiona os botões CH ou CH , os canais da TV mudam em seqüência. Você irá visualizar todos os canais memorizados pela TV. (A TV deve memorizar, no mínimo, três canais.) Você não irá visualizar os canais apagados ou não memorizados. Consulte a página 19 para obter informações sobre como memorizar canais.
Visualizando o display O display identifica o canal atual e o estado de determinados ajustes de áudio-vídeo. 1 Pressione o botão INFO no controle remoto. A TV exibirá o canal, o tipo de som e o status de certos ajustes de imagem e som. Memorizando os canais Sua TV pode memorizar e armazenar todos os canais disponíveis para os canais “off-air” (ar) e a cabo. Após a memorização dos canais, utilize os botões CH ou CH para varrer os canais. Estes botões eliminam a necessidade de mudar os canais, inserindo os dígitos dos canais. Há três etapas para a memorização de canais: seleção de uma fonte de transmissão, memorização dos canais (automática), e adição e exclusão de canais (manual).
Ajustando o controle remoto Após um ajuste correto, seu controle remoto pode operar em cinco modos diferentes: TV, VCR, Cabo, DVD, ou decodificador Set-Top. Se você pressionar o botão correspondente no controle remoto, poderá escolher entre esses modos e controlar quaisquer equipamentos de sua escolha. ➢ O controle remoto pode não ser compatível com todos os DVD players, VCRs, decodificadores e decodificadores set-top. Como alterar o tamanho da tela Ocasionalmente, você pode desejar alterar o tamanho da imagem na tela. Visualizando o PIP (Picture-in-Picture) Este produto tem um sintonizador interno que não permite que o PIP funcione no mesmo modo.
