The 8-bit (8B) data entered from the upper layer of MAC Part are
handled in one nibble to be converted into the signals of 10-bit (10B)
at the physical layer. And then each nibble of the converted data are
transmitted. The transmission speed after the conversion into
8B/10B is 1250 Mbps.
