Introducing your new oven Before you begin Clean the oven thoroughly before using it for the first time. Then, remove the accessories, set the oven to Bake, and then run the oven at 400 °F for 1 hour. There will be a distinctive odor. This is normal. Ensure your kitchen is well ventilated during this conditioning period. Operating the oven The oven control panel READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE OVEN. For satisfactory use of your oven, become familiar with the various features and functions of the oven as described below. Detailed instructions for each feature and function follow later in this user manual.
Control panel display modes Selecting the upper or lower oven To change between the upper and lower oven, touch the UPPER OVEN or LOWER OVEN area. Note that each oven has its own set of control buttons. The button sets are identical and perform the same functions. Setting the clock The clock must be set to the correct time of day for the automatic oven timing functions to work properly. • The time of day cannot be changed during timed cooking, delay-timed cooking, or a self-cleaning cycle.
Operating the oven Control Lockout Timed Cooking Control Lockout lets you lock the buttons on the touch pad so they cannot be activated accidently. Control Lock also locks both oven doors so they cannot be opened. You can only activate Control Lockout when the oven is in standby mode. In Timed Cooking mode, the oven turns on immediately and cooks for the length of time you select. At the end of the cooking time, the oven turns off automatically.
Delay Start Minimum and maximum settings With Delay Start, the oven’s timer turns the oven on and off at times you select in advance. • You can use Delay Start only with the Bake cooking and Self Clean operation. • You can set the oven for a delay start before setting other cooking operations. • The clock must be set to the current time. All the features listed in the table below have minimum and maximum time or temperature settings.

Baking Before using the racks Each rack has stops that need to be placed correctly on the supports. These stops will keep the rack from coming completely out. Removing the racks 1. 2. Operating the oven Broiling Broiling recommendation guide Broiling is a method of cooking tender cuts of meat by direct heat under the broil element of the oven. The high heat cooks quickly and gives a rich, brown outer appearance. Broil mode is best for meat, fish, and poultry up to 1" thick. 2. 3. Operating the oven Touch Broil once for Hi or twice for Lo. Use Lo to cook foods such as poultry or thick cuts of meat thoroughly without over-browning them. To start broiling, touch START/SET.
Using Bread Proof Using Settings Bread Proof provides an optimal temperature for the bread proofing process and therefore does not require a temperature adjustment. For the best results, always start the Bread Proof option with a cool oven. 1. Touch Bread Proof. 2. Touch START/SET. 3. Touch OVEN OFF at any time to turn off Bread Proof. This function lets you control various electronic control settings.
Operating the oven Temp Adjust Time of Day (12hr/24hr) The temperature in the oven has been calibrated at the factory. When first using the oven, be sure to follow recipe times and temperatures. If you think the oven is too hot or too cool, you can correct the temperature in the oven. Before correcting, test a recipe by using a temperature setting that is higher or lower than the recommended temperature. The baking results should help you to decide how much of an adjustment is needed.
Sound On/Off Using Sound On/Off, you can set the oven controls to operate silently. How to turn the sound on or off 1. 2. 3. (For use on the Jewish Sabbath & Holidays) Touch Settings, and then 5 on the number pad. Touch 1 (On) or 2 (Off) on the number pad. Touch START/SET to save the changes. Demo mode This setting is for use by retail establishments for display purposes only. (When Demo mode is on, the heating element is disabled and does not operate.

ONLY the following key pads will function correctly with the Sabbath feature on: Number, Bake, START/SET and OVEN OFF. All other keys should not be used once the Sabbath feature is activated. You can change the oven temperature, but the display will not change and tones will not sound when a change occurs. (The oven temperature adjustment feature should be used only on Jewish holidays.

The water on the bottom is hot. Open the oven door and remove the remaining water with a sponge. Do not leave the residual water in the oven for any length of time. Wipe the oven clean and dry with a soft cloth. Do not forget to wipe under the oven door seal.
Oven racks • • If the racks are left in the oven during a self-cleaning cycle, their color will turn slightly blue and the finish will be dull. After the self-cleaning cycle is complete and the oven has cooled, rub the sides of the racks with wax paper or a cloth containing a small amount of oil. This will help the racks glide more easily on their tracks. Gliding racks may be cleaned by hand with an abrasive cleaner or steel wool.

While holding the glass cover with one hand, insert a flat-sharp tool such as a table knife between the glass and the frame to remove the glass cover. 3. Turn the bulb cap counterclockwise to remove. The oven light is a standard 40-watt appliance halogen bulb. It comes on when the oven door is open. When the oven door is closed, touch to turn the light on or off. It will not work during a self-cleaning cycle.
Troubleshooting OVEN Troubleshooting Samsung works hard to ensure that you don’t have problems with your new electric oven. If you run into unexpected trouble, look first for a solution in the tables below. If you’re still having trouble after trying the suggested solution, call Samsung at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864). Refer to the section on operating the oven on page 22. The meat has been placed too close to the element. Reposition the rack to provide proper clearance between the meat and the element. Preheat the broil element for searing. The meat has not been properly prepared. Remove excess fat from the meat.
Problem Excessive smoking during a self-cleaning cycle. Possible cause There is excessive soiling in the oven. Solution Touch OVEN OFF. Open the windows to rid the room of smoke. Wait until the selfcleaning cycle is cancelled. Wipe up the excessive soil and then start the selfcleaning cycle again. The oven is too hot. Allow the oven to cool. The oven is not clean after a self-cleaning cycle. The oven controls were not set correctly. See the section on selfcleaning on page 27.

La elevada temperatura realiza una cocción rápida y deja el exterior con un aspecto sabroso y dorado. El modo asar a la parrilla es el mejor para carnes, pescados y aves de hasta 1" de grosor.
Uso de Levantamiento del pan Uso de Configuración Genera automáticamente una temperatura óptima para el proceso de levantamiento del pan y, por ende, no requiere ningún ajuste de temperatura. Para obtener los mejores resultados, siempre inicie la opción Bread Proof (Entibiar pan para leudado) con el horno frío. 1. Toque Bread Proof (Levantamiento del pan). 2. El agua en la base está caliente. Abra la puerta del horno y retire el agua remanente con una esponja. No permita que el agua residual permanezca en el horno por más tiempo que el indispensable. Limpie el horno y séquelo con un paño suave. No olvide limpiar debajo de la junta selladora de la puerta del horno.
Parrillas del horno • • Si las parrillas se dejan en el horno durante un ciclo de auto-limpieza, su color virará a tonos azulados y se volverán opacas. Una vez finalizado el ciclo de auto-limpieza y que se haya enfriado el horno, frote las barras laterales de las parrillas con un papel encerado o con un paño humedecido con una pequeña cantidad de aceite. Esto permitirá que las parrillas se deslicen más fácilmente en sus carriles.

Utilisation de la fonction Paramètres Le mode Pain précuit procure une température optimale pour le procédé de précuisson du pain et ne nécessite donc pas de réglage de la température. Pour de meilleurs résultats, démarrez toujours l'option Levage du pain dans un four froid. 1. Appuyez sur Bread Proof (Pain précuit). 2. Appuyez sur START/SET (DÉPART/RÉGLAGE). 3. L'eau située dans le fond du four est extrêmement chaude. Ouvrez la porte du four et épongez l'eau restante. Ne laissez pas stagner l'eau qui reste dans le four. Essuyez le four et séchez-le à l'aide d'un chiffon doux. N'oubliez pas d'essuyer sous le joint de la porte.
Grilles de cuisson • • Si vous laissez les grilles dans le four durant un cycle d'auto-nettoyage, leur couleur deviendra légèrement bleutée et l'aspect de leur surface se ternira. Une fois le cycle d'auto-nettoyage terminé et le four refroidi, essuyez les parties latérales des grilles à l'aide d'un papier sulfurisé ou d'un chiffon légèrement huilé. Cela permettra une meilleure insertion des grilles dans leurs glissières.

Problème Fumée excessive durant un cycle d'auto-nettoyage. Cause possible L'intérieur de votre four est excessivement sale. Solution Appuyez sur OVEN OFF (ARRÊT DU FOUR). Ouvrez les fenêtres pour évacuer la fumée de la pièce. Attendez que le cycle d'autonettoyage soit annulé. Essuyez la saleté excessive, puis relancez un cycle d'auto-nettoyage. Le four est trop chaud. Laissez le four refroidir. Le four est toujours sale après un cycle d'auto-nettoyage.
