Using the Outlet:
Your Outlet can be used to automate turning on/off lights
and other small appliances. It can also be used to extend
the range of your SmartThings and third-party ZigBee
devices.

Meet the Outlet
The Outlet lets you control, automate, and monitor lamps,
electronics, and small appliances from anywhere. Trigger
lamps to automatically turn on when you come home; save
energy by restricting power to appliances; and turn any
three-prong plug into a smart, controllable device.
Installation Tips: The Outlet works best if it’s within 15 feet
(4.5 meters) of the SmartThings Hub when you connect it.
How to connect an Outlet
Select "Add a Thing" in the free SmartThings smartphone
app and then plug in the Outlet.
If your device doesn’t connect
If your device doesn’t connect after plugging it in, hold the
“Connect” button for 5 seconds and release when the
LED starts blinking. Then select “Add a Thing” in the
SmartThings smartphone app.
