Do not leave your radio within reach of small children (some mobile parts may be accidentally swallowed). NEVER OPEN THE RADIO! YOU MAY RUN THE RISK OF AN ELECTRIC SHOCK For your safety, never use your radio without the battery flap or you risk an electrical shock.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? The controls for your radio are identical for FM mode and DAB mode. DAB mode scans the frequency and offers the memorized stations. Connecting other accessories may be dangerous and void your warranty rights. CHOOSING THE ADAPTOR Choose the adaptor according to your country. 1. Assemble the adaptor into the power transformer supplied. SWITCHING ON YOUR RADIO 1. Connect the power transformer supplied with your radio. 2. Connect the power plug to the mains.

When you use your radio the first time, it scans the DAB band. Do not interrupt this scan. 2. When scanning is complete, the radio displays the first station found. You can now pass from one station to another.

LU_HL40_HM40_EN.book Page 10 Lundi, 9. mai 2011 9:17 09 CHOOSING A PREDEFINED AUDIO PROFILE You can accentuate certain tones by setting one of the 6 predefined audio profiles (Normal, Rock, Jazz, Classic, Treble, Bass). In the Audio Mode menu, select one of the audio profiles from the list and confirm. RESETTING THE RADIO If necessary, you can reset the radio to its initial settings. If you reset the radio, you will lose your personal settings.

RECORDING A RADIO PROGRAMME 1. Select the Record > Record menu, and confirm. 2. Select the required Station and confirm. 3. Define and confirm the start time of the recording:  turn the knob to reach the desired time,  press the knob to confirm the time displayed. Thus, first define the hours, then the minutes. 4. Define the Recording duration (from 0 to 90 minutes maximum). When the recording starts, the screen shows the progress and the start and end time of the recording.
