Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.  Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

ROTARY TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS  Do not “jam” a cut-off wheel or apply excessive pressure. Do not attempt to make an excessive depth of cut. Overstressing the wheel increases the loading and susceptibility to twisting or snagging of the wheel in the cut and the possibility of kickback or wheel breakage.  Do not position your hand in line with and behind the rotating wheel.

OPERATION USING MANDRELS To remove:  Depress the latches on each side of the battery pack. For complete charging instructions, see the operator’s manuals for your battery pack and charger. WARNING: Battery products are always in operating condition. Therefore, the switch should always be locked when not in use or carrying at your side. TURNING THE ROTARY TOOL ON/OFF See Figure 3, page 12. n To turn the tool ON: move the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.

OPERATION Refer to the Speed Dial Settings table to determine the proper speed based on the material being worked and the type of accessory being used. SLOWER SPEEDS Certain materials, some plastics for example, require a relatively slow speed because the friction of the tool generates heat and causes the plastic to melt at high speed. Slow speeds (15,000 RPM or less) are usually best for polishing operations using the polishing accessories.

OPERATION To operate the rotary tool:  Secure all work in a vise or clamp to a workbench to prevent it from moving under the tool.  Move the tool continuously at a steady, consistent pace.  Hold the tool in front and away from you, keeping the tool accessory clear of the workpiece. NOTE: Heavy pressure will decrease the tool’s speed and put a strain on the motor. The weight of the tool alone is adequate for most jobs.  Lift the tool away from the workpiece before turning off the tool.

AVERTISSEMENTS DE SÉCURITÉ RELATIFS DE L’OUTIL ROTATIF  Porter de l’équipement de protection individuelle. Selon le type d’opération, porter un masque de protection ou des lunettes de sécurité. Au besoin, porter également un masque antipoussières, un protecteur d’oreille, des gants et un tablier d’atelier résistant aux petits fragments abrasifs ou aux fragments provenant des pièces à travailler. La protection oculaire utilisée doit résister aux débris projetés lors des différentes opérations.

AVERTISSEMENTS DE SÉCURITÉ RELATIFS DE L’OUTIL ROTATIF  Pour les cônes et bouchons abrasifs filetés, utiliser seulement des mandrins de disque non endommagés dotés d’une bride d’épaulement non dégagée et ayant la bonne taille et la bonne longueur. Un mandrin adéquat réduira le risque de brisure.  S’assurer que la meule à tronçonner ne se coince pas et éviter d’appliquer une pression excessive. Éviter de tronçonner sur une profondeur excessive.

UTILISATION UTILISATION DE MANDRINS AVERTISSEMENT : Les outils à piles sont toujours en état de fonctionnement. Verrouiller la gâchette lorsque l’outil n’est pas utilisé ou pour le transporter le long du corps. MISE EN MARCHE/ARRÊT DE L’OUTIL ROTATIF Voir la figure 3, page 12. n Pour mettre l’outil en MARCHE : mettre l’interrupteur MARCHE/ARRÊT en position MARCHE. n Pour ARRÊTER l’outil : mettre l’interrupteur MARCHE/ ARRÊT en position ARRÊT.

UTILISATION Utiliser le cadran de contrôle de vitesse afin de régler la meilleure vitesse pour le travail. Quand le cadran se trouve sur le réglage maximal, un régime d’environ 34 000 tr/min est atteint. Se rapporter au tableau Réglages du cadran de vitesse pour déterminer la vitesse appropriée, selon le matériau travaillé et l’accessoire utilisé.

UTILISATION une coupe, passer l’outil allant-venant sur la pièce, tout comme vous le ferier avec un petit pinceau. Couper un peu de matériau à chaque passage jusqu’à atteindre la profondeur désirée. Pour la plupart des tâches, l’approche douce est la meilleure. Vous aller avoir plus de contrôle, faire moins d’erreurs et effectuer un travail efficace avec l’accessoire. Pour assurer le meilleur contrôle possible pour du travail de précision, tenir l’outil entre le pouce et l’index.

Antes de cada uso inspeccione los accesorios como discos abrasivos para controlar si hay virutas y grietas, rodillos para lijar para controlar si hay grietas, desgaste y deterioro excesivo, cepillo de alambre para controlar si hay cables sueltos y agrietados. Si la herramienta eléctrica o el accesorio se caen, examine los daños o instale un accesorio en buen estado.

Para obtener instrucciones específicas de carga, lea el manual del operador que se incluye con el cargador y la batería. FUNCIONAMIENTO SELECCIÓN DE LA VELOCIDAD CORRECTA Vea la figura 8, página 13. La herramienta rotatoria tiene una gama de velocidad que va desde 5 000 hasta 34 000 RPM. Para seleccionar la velocidad correcta para cada tarea, use una pieza de material de práctica. Varíe la velocidad hasta encontrar la mejor velocidad para el accesorio que está utilizando y la tarea que tiene que realizar. Use el selector de control de velocidad para establecer la velocidad apropiada para el trabajo.

FUNCIONAMIENTO que se encuentra en el portaherramientas. Usted no debe inclinarse sobre la herramienta ni empujarla contra la pieza de trabajo. Se recomienda hacer una serie de pasadas con la herramienta en lugar de intentar completar todo el trabajo en una sola pasada. Para efectuar un corte, mueva la herramienta hacia atrás y hacia adelante sobre la pieza de trabajo como si fuera un pincel pequeño. Corte un poco de material en cada pasada hasta alcanzar la profundidad deseada.
