Simple Wireless Switch Kit
Wireless Switch Controller
This kit allows you to you to wirelessly control a light
or other power source with a standard decora-style
switch.
The wireless switch is battery-free and uses the
kinetic energy from a press to generate a radio signal
to communicate with the controller, which is
connected to a power source. Multiple kits may be
used in the same home with no interference. Kits are
shipped pre-linked and ready to install.
This kit can control one on/off power source with one
switch. Different kits are available for different
situations. Additional switches and controllers are
available if needed. Contact your seller for more
information.
––––How to install behind a fixture––––
This installation method is recommended if you are
adding a switch to a pull-chain light. Allows switch
control of a light fixture.
Caution: If installing behind a fixture, avoid using with
incandescent bulbs. Incandescent bulbs can cause
the controller operating environment to be too hot if
the fixture hugs close to the ceiling. Compact
fluorescent bulbs and LED bulbs are fine.
Tools you will need:
● Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
● Wire nuts (also called wire connectors)
1. Before doing any electrical work, always turn off
the power at the circuit breaker.
2. Disconnect and remove the light fixture from its
junction box.
There should be a black (line) and white (neutral) wire
coming from the junction box, and a black and white
wire from the fixture. If there is anything unusual with
the wiring, contact a local electrician rather than
adjusting the wiring yourself.
If you are replacing your old fixture with a new
fixture, you may need to replace some of the
mounting hardware before you begin wiring.
3. Connect the line power to your controller––connect
the black wire of your controller to the black wire
from the junction box. Cover with a wire nut.
4. Connect all the neutral wires together––the white
wire from the junction box, the white wire from the
controller, and the white wire from your fixture. Cover
with a wire nut.
5. Connect your controller to the fixture’s switched
power––connect the red wire from your controller to
the black wire of your fixture. Cover with a wire nut.I
6. Tuck the controller and wires into the junction box,
and reattach the light fixture.
7. Restore power at the circuit panel and test with the
wireless switch.
––How to install at a switch location––
This installation method is recommended if you want
to relocate your light switch.
Remove a light switch and install the controller in its
place. Cover with a cover plate. Install the new
wireless switch at a new location.
You can install at the old switch location only if you
have a neutral wire available at that location (a group
of white wires that are tied together). If no neutral
wire is available, you’ll need to install at the fixture.
