GETTING STARTED To Watch a DVD (if connected to a DVD Player): Use the monitor with the vehicle running, or with the ignition key switch in the “accessory” position. The M10 can be installed as a standalone monitor or as the control center for a multiple-screen system. If installed with a compatible Rosen source unit, the M10 remote control can operate basic functions of that source unit. For this reason, many M10 control buttons will only operate if an optional source unit is installed.

Here’s a partial list of some things you can do with your M10: In order to operate the system, the vehicle ignition key switch must be in the ACC or engine ON position. · Display high-quality video images from DVD players, video game systems, and other video sources with composite video output. · Transmit audio to single or dual-channel wireless headphones.
Rosen Entertainment Systems CHANGING AND ADJUSTING THE DISPLAY Selecting a display mode: The system’s “widescreen” display has a 16:9 aspect ratio - wider than a standard television. While many DVD’s provide widescreen video images that fit the screen, standard broadcast TV and some video games don’t. • • To view widescreen DVD’s, press the DISPLAY MODE button until “WIDE” is displayed on the screen. To watch “fullscreen” DVD’s, the internal game system, or broadcast television, select “STANDARD”.
Rosen M10 Owner’s Manual USING THE REMOTE CONTROL You can use the remote control to control the M10 monitor and optional Rosen DVD players and TV Tuners. The M10 has two infrared sensors to receive signals from the remote - one is built into the control panel, and the other faces forward in the vehicle, for use from the front seats. For definitions of each remote control button’s specific function, see the following pages.
Rosen Entertainment Systems BASIC REMOTE CONTROL BUTTONS 1 Open/ Optional Source Unit Power Pressing this button when the screen is closed will deploy the screen. This button also turns on some optional Rosen source units. (There is also an OPEN button on the front control panel.) Note: The M10 turns on when the screen opens. 4 Play Press to begin or resume playback of a DVD in a Rosen DVD Player. Note: When the disc is first inserted, you may have to press PLAY or ENTER to begin playback.

Note: The Source button on the control panel performs the same function. Speaker Sound Control When this button is pressed, Speaker Sound On appears on the screen, along with the FM frequency to which you should tune your radio, such as “FM 87.7” .
Rosen Entertainment Systems USING DVD DISC FEATURES (ROSEN DVD PLAYERS ONLY) 20 Subtitle This button lets you cycle through the various subtitle languages available on the DVD disc being played. 23 • To view widescreen DVD’s, press this button until “WIDE” is displayed on the screen. This uses the full width of the screen. • To watch “fullscreen” DVD’s or broadcast television, press until “STANDARD” is displayed.
Rosen M10 Owner’s Manual USING WIRELESS HEADPHONES REPLACING HEADPHONE BATTERIES The system is compatible with wireless infrared (IR) single-channel headphones (AC3003). These headphones receive a signal from an IR transmitter built into the M10. These headphones allow rear-seat passengers to listen without using the vehicle speakers. The wireless IR headphones require two AAA batteries.
Rosen Entertainment Systems LISTENING OVER THE CAR SPEAKERS The M10 uses an FM Modulator (FMM) to send audio through the vehicle radio and speakers. To listen over your speakers: 1 Make sure system MUTE is off. Press SPEAKER. “SPEAKER SOUND ON FM _ _ . _” appears. (If “SPEAKER SOUND DISABLED” appears, select an FM frequency as described below.) 2 Turn on the car radio. Tune to the FM frequency displayed on the screen, such as “FM 87.7”.
Rosen M10 Owner’s Manual USING EXTERNAL SOURCES OPTIONAL ROSEN ACCESSORIES You may use optional external video games, camcorders, and other portable video units by connecting the unit to the auxiliary RCA input jacks on the unit. You must remove the cover to access the jacks, and press SOURCE to select “AUXILIARY INPUT”. Check with your authorized Rosen dealer or visit www. rosenentertainment.com., for information on accessories available for your M10 system. Some require installation parts and labor.
Rosen Entertainment Systems ADJUSTING THE SCREEN ANGLE The Rosen M10 uses an advanced mechanical design to hold the screen at the perfect viewing angle for you, your passengers, and your vehicle. Here’s how to adjust the screen angle: . First, press the OPEN button on the front panel, or on the remote. The screen will deploy. OPEN ENTER SOURCE Second, to allow the adjuster to move freely, gently pull the screen towards you an inch or so, and hold it there with one hand.
Rosen M10 Owner’s Manual WHY ARE THE BLACK BARS STILL THERE SOMETIMES? Eliminating Black Bars when viewing a DVD: There are three possible reasons for black bars to appear on the top and bottom of an M10 display: 1) Make sure that the DVD player is set to “WIDE”. 1) You are watching a widescreen movie with an aspect ratio greater than 1.85:1. (For more options on dealing with this, see below). Check the disc jewel box to determine the DVD’s aspect ratio - if you see 2.3:1, 2.33:1, or 2.
Rosen Entertainment Systems USING THE M10 DUAL-ZONE MODES AND OUTPUT B Note: Optional AC3072 Dual-channel headphones are required for using daul-zone mode, as well as additional screens. When the M10 is installed as a second screen for the Rosen A10 system, the M10’s infrared headphone transmitters are disabled, and it will not respond to its remote control. The A10acts as the infrared transmitter for both channels A and B.
Rosen M10 Owner’s Manual FAQ’S I HAVE NO PICTURE AND NO SOUND - WHAT’S WRONG? The system has low- and high-voltage and temperature protection circuits. If the voltage or temperature goes beyond the limits, the system shuts off. The power wire or power harness may have been disconnected, or the fuse may have failed. Contact your Rosen authorized dealer to determine if this is the case. Note: The system voltage range is 11-16VDC operating voltage. The system operating temperature is 0o to 60o Celsius.
