General Troubleshooting
:Q Why does the status LED ash red then green
while I am entering the code on my remote?
:A You may have entered an incorrect code. Check
the code and try re-entering it.
:Q Why does the status LED ash red, but there is
no response when I press a key?
:A Make sure the remote is aimed at your TV or AVR
and is no farther than 15 feet away. Also, make
sure your set-top box is powered on and in plain
sight.
TV Power: Turns your TV on/o.
All Power: One button to turn the TV, AVR
and set-top box on/o.
Replay: Jumps back 15 seconds.
Note: Some features above require
programming the remote for control of a
TV and/or AVR.
Exit: Returns you to the last channel you
were watching or stops the On Demand or
DVR program.
Search: Search for content by channel,
program or key words.
Rec: Press to record any program with one
touch.
XFINITY/Menu: Access the main menu:
Guide, Saved, XFINITY On Demand ™,
Apps, Search and Settings.
Guide: Displays TV Listings in multiple
guide views.
OK: Selects a highlighted item.
Last: History of previous channels or
programs, or previous menu viewed.
Info: Displays detailed program infor-
mation.
A, B, C, D: Context-sensitive control keys.
Setup: Used for programming your
remote to control your TV, AVR, and set-
top box.
TV Input: Changes to the next available
input on your TV.
Note: Some features above require
programming your remote for control of
your TV.

Pair your XR5 for Aim Anywhere control!
Once your remote control is paired to your set-top
box it is uniquely paired and will not control any
other set-top box in your home unless you pair it
with another device.
If you would like to use your remote to control
multiple XFINITY set-top boxes simultaneously,
you can remove Aim Anywhere pairing by follow-
ing the steps below.
1. Press and hold the Setup button on the remote
until the status LED changes from red to
green.
2. Press A on the remote. If the status LED blinks
green twice, you have successfully removed
Aim Anywhere control.
You can now use your remote to control other
Comcast set-top boxes simultaneously.

Aim Anywhere Control?
Your XFINITY Remote can be paired with Aim
Anywhere devices, including select set-top
boxes*, allowing you to control your devices
even when they are placed out of line-of-sight
(for example, in an entertainment center, behind
your TV, or in another room, up to 50 feet away).
XFINITY Remotes can be identied by a model
number beginning with “XR” on the back of the
remote.
Follow the steps below to pair your XFINITY
Remote with the Aim Anywhere device.
*Aim Anywhere control is not supported by all
set-top boxes.
Aim Anywhere Pairing:
1. Press and hold the Setup button for 3
seconds, until the status LED changes from
red to green.
2. Press the XFINITY button on the remote.
Your TV should display on-screen instruc-
tions to enter a 3-digit code. If the instruc-
tions do not appear, press the XFINITY
button again - up to 2 more times.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter
the 3-digit code that appears.
4. Once the code is correctly entered, your
XFINITY Remote is paired with the device.
:Q Why does the status LED ash red then green
then red during pairing?
:A The set-top box you are attempting to pair may
not be powered on, or may not support Aim
Anywhere control. If the on screen instructions
to enter a 3-digit code do not display on your TV
when attempting to pair, your set-top box does not
support Aim Anywhere control.
:Q When paired, why does the status LED ash
green then red when pressing a button on the
remote?
:A The set-top box that is paired with your remote
may not be powered on or may be out of range.
If your device is powered on and within 50 feet of
the remote, try re-pairing your remote.
