Outdoor Antenna

User’s Guide

Step 1: Unpack

Remove all three sections of the antenna and the hardware bag from

package. Make sure the following parts are in the package:

• 3 antenna sections

• 2 reﬂector booms

• Hardware bag

U-Bolt (2) 10/32” Screws

Mast Clamp Insert (4) Plugs

(6) 10/32” Hex nuts (2) 1/4” Hex Nuts

Matching transformer (8) 7/16” Washers

section

Step 2: Unfold the middle section

Find the middle section of the antenna

(illustrated on the left).

Starting from the rear of the middle section,

unfold the long VHF Elements until they lock

into place (as illustrated below).

Turn the middle section over and unfold the

shorter elements on the other side.

Step 3: Unfold the back section Find the back section (the section with only one set of elements). Back section Unfold the two VHF elements on the back section. VHF element Step 4: Connect the back section to the middle section Middle section On the middle section (the one you unfolded in step 2), find the word “Back” stamped in blue on the boom. Find the same stamp on the boom of the back section. Line up both booms so that the stamps face you.

Step 5: Connect the reflector booms to the front section Find the two reflector booms and the front section of the antenna. The two smaller elements on the reflector booms face away from the small section. IMPORTANT: Unfold the elements on each end of the reflector boom so that the front of their locking tabs face towards each other. The remaining locking tabs can be unfolded in either direction. Make sure that all of the elements are perpendicular to the reflector boom.

Step 6: Connect the front section to the middle section On the front section (the one you unfolded in step 5), find the word “Front” stamped in red on the boom. Find the same stamp on the boom of the middle section. Line up both booms so that the stamps face you. Front section Remove the screw and nut from end of the middle section closest to the front section. Insert the crimped end of the front section into the middle section as illustrated on the left.

Step 8: Attach the mast clamp insert Find the U-bolt and mast clamp insert (see the illustration to the left). Put the U-bolt into the mast clamp insert with the teeth of the mast clamp insert facing the closed end of the U-bolt. U-bolt Mast clamp Mast clamp insert Insert the U-bolt into the mast clamp on the antenna and loosely thread the 1/4” hex nuts onto the U-bolt. The teeth on the mast clamp and the teeth on the insert should be facing the same direction. Do not tighten the hex nuts yet.

Step 11: Attach the antenna to the mast IMPORTANT: Before you attach the antenna to your mast, visit www.antennaweb.org to see the locations of your local broadcast towers. This information is crucial in pointing your antenna correctly. Loosen the nuts on the mounting clamp U-bolt as needed. Then slide the U-bolt over the mast. Point small end of antenna toward your local broadcast towers. Tighten the mast clamp and nuts securely.

Encuentre la misma palabra impresa en el brazo de la sección posterior.

Paso 5: Conecte los brazos reflectores a la sección frontal Encuentre los dos brazos reflectores y la sección frontal de la antena. Los dos elementos más pequeños en los brazos reflectores están orientados en dirección opuesta a la sección más pequeña. IMPORTANTE: Desdoble los elementos en cada extremo del brazo reflector de manera que la parte frontal de las lengüetas de bloqueo queden orientadas entre sí. Las lengüetas de bloqueo restantes pueden desdoblarse en cualquier dirección.

Paso 6: Conecte la sección frontal a la sección central En la sección frontal (la que desdobló en el paso 5), encuentre la palabra “Front” impresa de color rojo en el brazo. Encuentre la misma palabra impresa en el brazo de la sección central. Alinee ambos brazos de manera que las palabras impresas queden orientadas hacia usted. Sección frontal Extraiga el tornillo y la tuerca del extremo de la sección central más próximos a la sección frontal.

Paso 8: Fije el inserto de la abrazadera del mástil Abrazadera del mástil Perno en U Inserto de la abrazadera del mástil Encuentre el perno en U y el inserto de la abrazadera del mástil (vea la ilustración a la izquierda). Instale el perno en U en el inserto de la abrazadera del mástil de manera que los dientes del inserto de la abrazadera queden orientados hacia el lado cerrado del perno en U.

Paso 11: Fije la antena al mástil IMPORTANTE: Antes de fijar la antena al mástil, visite www.antennaweb.org para conocer la ubicación de las torres de difusión locales. Esta información es sumamente importante para la lograr la orientación correcta de la antena. Afloje las tuercas en el perno en U de la abrazadera de montaje. Deslice el perno en U en el mástil. Oriente el extremo pequeño de la antena hacia las torres de difusión locales. Apriete bien las tuercas y la abrazadera del mástil.
