...on your decision to purchase the QuietCool Winterized Insert
We share your excitement as we know the advantages of using a Winterized Insert. e
Winterized Insert will help decrease any cold air leaking from the attic into the home when the
QuietCool whole house fan system is not in use. e Winterized Insert is made up of a Vacuum
Insulated Panel which contains an R value of 40. e cover was checked visually, dimensionally
and for density, passing our quality control test. Here is some additional information we would
like to share with you when it comes to using your new QuietCool Winterized Insert.
Storage:
When you are not using your Winterized Insert be sure to place it back
into the box that it came with. is will ensure the cover is not damaged
while stored and will enhance the longevity of the Winterized Insert.

Handling:
e Winterized Insert is delicate and should be handled with care.
Any cuts or punctures to the Winterized Insert will cause the vacuum
insulated panel to lose its fantastic R value. Be careful when installing
the cover and make sure it does not bump or scratch against anything
that may cause the panel to lose its vacuum seal.
When installing the Winterized Insert, you will need a at head screw driver to remove the
grille core from your ceiling.
Remove your grille by using a at head screw driver in one of the creases in the corners of
the grille core. Make sure to keep your other hand on the center of the grille core preventing
it from falling. With a little prying pressure, the grille core will easily be removed from the
ceiling. en place your Winterized Insert into the back side of the grille core.
Lastly, install your grille core and Winterized Insert into the grille frame by snapping it into
place. Congratulations, your Winterized Insert is installed and providing you with an R-40
insulation value.
