BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the revolutionary PROFORM® 19.0 RE elliptical. The 19.0 RE elliptical provides an impressive selection of features designed to make your workouts at home more effective and enjoyable. manual. To help us assist you, note the product model number and serial number before contacting us. The model number and the location of the serial number decal are shown on the front cover of this manual. For your benefit, read this manual carefully before you use the elliptical.
PART IDENTIFICATION CHART Use the drawings below to identify the small parts needed for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity needed for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see if it has been preassembled. Extra parts may be included.
ASSEMBLY • To hire an authorized service technician to assemble this product, call 1-800-445-2480. • In addition to the included tool(s), assembly requires the following tools: • Assembly requires two persons. one Phillips screwdriver • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you nish all assembly steps. one adjustable wrench • Left parts are marked “L” or “Left” and right parts are marked “R” or “Right.
2. Have a second person hold the Folding Frame (2) to prevent the elliptical from tipping until this step is completed. 2 100 Attach the Rear Stabilizer (4) to the Folding Frame (2) with two M10 x 95mm Screws (100). Handle Next, hold the handle on the Rear Stabilizer (4), press the Latch Button (67), and unfold the elliptical so that the Rear Stabilizer is resting on the floor.
3. Orient the Front Stabilizer (3) so that the small welded tubes are facing away from the Main Frame (1). 3 Attach the Front Stabilizer (3) to the Main Frame (1) with two M10 x 95mm Screws (100). Orient the Upright (5) and the Top Cover (27) as shown, and slide the Top Cover upward onto the Upright. 4 Wire Tie Have a second person hold the Upright (5) and the Top Cover (27) near the Main Frame (1).
5. Using a plastic bag to keep your fingers clean, apply a generous amount of the included grease to the Upright Axle (48) and to two Wave Washers (118). 5 60 102 Tip: Avoid damaging the Main Wire Harness (60). Insert the Upright Axle (48) through the Upright (5) and center it. Slide a Wave Washer (118) onto each side of the Upright Axle. Avoid damaging the Main Wire Harness (60) 95 Grease 118 48 7 Next, identify the Right and Left Upper Body Legs (6, 7) and orient them as shown.
7. See drawing 7a. Locate the Pedal Arm Roller (32) on the Right Pedal Arm (12). Set the Pedal Arm Roller on the Ramp (130). 7a See drawing 7b. Apply grease to the axle on the right Crank Arm (39). Orient a Pedal Arm Sleeve (46) so that the flat side is facing the elliptical. Slide the Pedal Arm Sleeve onto the axle on the right Crank Arm (39). Attach the Pedal Arm Sleeve with an M8 x 25mm Screw (121), a Large Axle Cover (113), and an M8 Washer (95).
8. Press the Ramp Cover (131) downward onto the Ramp (130). 8 131 130 9. Identify the Right Link Arm (43) and orient it as shown. 9 Apply grease to the axle on the Right Pedal Arm (12). Slide the Right Link Arm (43) onto the axle. Attach the Right Link Arm (43) with an M8 x 16mm Screw (102), a Small Axle Cover (56), and an M8 Washer (95). Next, apply grease to a Link Arm Axle (114). Insert the Link Arm Axle into the Right Upper Body Leg (6) and the Right Link Arm (43) from the side shown.
10. Identify the Right Upper Body Arm (8). 10 Attach the Right Upper Body Arm (8) to the Right Upper Body Leg (6) with four M8 x 16mm Screws (102). Attach the Left Upper Body Arm (not shown) to the Left Upper Body Leg (7) in the same way. 5 6 7 8 102 102 11. Untie and discard the wire ties on the wires in the Upright (5). 11 Avoid pinching the wires 33 Have a second person hold the Console (33) near the Upright (5).
12. Identify the Front Upright Cover (24) and orient it as shown. 12 Attach the Front Upright Cover (24) to the Upright (5) with four M4 x 16mm Screws (106). 24 5 106 13. Orient the Rear Upright Cover (25) as shown. 13 Connect the wire on the Receiver (144) to the Extension Wire (104). 24 Avoid pinching the wires Tip: Avoid pinching the wires. Attach the Rear Upright Cover (25) around the Upright (5) by pressing it into the Front Upright Cover (24). 5 104 144 25 14.
THE CHEST HEART RATE MONITOR HOW TO PUT ON THE HEART RATE MONITOR The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor. Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor as shown. Then, press the end of the sensor under the buckle on the chest strap. The tab should be flush with the front of the sensor.
HOW TO USE THE ELLIPTICAL HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD A temporary adapter may be used to connect the power cord to a 2-pole receptacle as shown at the right if a properly grounded outlet is not available. This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. The power cord has a plug with a grounding pin.
HOW TO FOLD AND UNFOLD THE ELLIPTICAL To unfold the elliptical, first hold the handle, press the latch button, and lower the frame. Next, pull the pedal arms away from the handlebars. When the elliptical is not in use, the frame can be folded out of the way. First, lift the latch under each pedal arm, and lift the pedal arms off the pedal arm sleeves. Then, lift the latches under the pedal arms, and set the pedal arms on the pedal arm sleeves.
HOW TO EXERCISE ON THE ELLIPTICAL HOW TO LEVEL THE ELLIPTICAL To mount the elliptical, hold the upper body arms and step onto the pedal that is in the lowest position. Next, step onto the other pedal. Push the pedals until they begin to move with a continuous motion. If the elliptical rocks slightly on your floor during use, turn one or both of the leveling feet beneath the rear stabilizer until the rocking motion is eliminated.

FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER The advanced console offers an array of features designed to make your workouts more effective and enjoyable. IMPORTANT: If the elliptical has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components. The console features revolutionary iFit technology that enables the console to communicate with your wireless network.
HOW TO SET UP THE CONSOLE HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE Before using the elliptical for the first time, set up the console. 1. Begin pedaling or press any button on the console to turn on the console. 1. Create an iFit account. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 21. To create an iFit account, or for more information about the account, go to www.iFit.com and click Join iFit. 2. Select the manual mode. The manual mode will be selected automatically each time you turn on the console. The iFit.
4. Follow your progress with the display. Time—When the manual mode is selected, this display mode will show the elapsed time. The display can show the following workout information: The matrix offers several display tabs. Press the Display button repeatedly until the desired tab is shown. You can also press the increase and decrease buttons next to the Enter button. Incline—This tab will show a prole of the incline settings of the workout.
When the console is connected to a wireless network, the wireless symbol in the display will show the strength of your wireless signal. Four arcs indicate full signal strength. If the wireless symbol is flashing, the console is not connected to a wireless network. When your pulse is detected, one or two dashes will appear, and then your heart rate will be shown. For the most accurate heart rate reading, hold the contacts for at least 15 seconds.
HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT As you exercise, you will be prompted to keep your pedaling speed near the target rpm for the current segment. When an upward-pointing arrow appears in the display, increase your pace. When a downward-pointing arrow appears, decrease your pace. When no arrow appears, maintain your current pace. 1. Begin pedaling or press any button on the console to turn on the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 21. 2. Select an onboard workout.
HOW TO USE A SET-A-GOAL WORKOUT Note: The calorie goal is an estimate of the number of calories that you will burn during the workout. The actual number of calories that you burn will depend on various factors such as your weight. In addition, if you manually change the resistance or incline of the ramp during the workout, the number of calories you burn will be affected. 1. Begin pedaling or press any button on the console to turn on the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 21. 2.
HOW TO USE AN IFIT WORKOUT will burn during the workout and a profile of the resistance settings of the workout. Note: To use an iFit workout, the console must be connected to a wireless network (see page 28). An iFit account is also required (see step 1 on page 22). HOW TO CHANGE CONSOLE SETTINGS iFit User Setup—To set up a different iFit account, but maintain the existing wireless connection, follow the instructions in the matrix. Note: This option will be used rarely. The console features a settings mode that allows you to view usage information, to personalize console settings, and to set up and manage a wireless network connection. Firmware Update—For the best results, regularly check for firmware updates. 1. Select the settings mode.
Clear WiFi—To erase the console’s wireless network settings and have it forget the currently selected wireless network, follow the instructions in the matrix. Press the up, down, left, and right buttons to highlight the desired letter or number. Then, press the Enter button to select the letter, number, or symbol. When you have finished entering the password, press the Done button. Contrast—The contrast level of the display will appear in the matrix.
Then, cycle the power of the elliptical: press the power switch on the elliptical to the off position, wait for several seconds, and then press the power switch to the reset position. Note: It may take a few minutes for the console to be ready for use. computer, smart phone, tablet, or other Wi-Fi device. Next, type in the IP address on the console into the URL bar in your browser. Example: http://192.168.0.1:8080. Your browser will load a web page.

These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING Inspect and tighten all parts of the elliptical regularly. Replace any worn parts immediately. HOW TO ADJUST THE REED SWITCH If the console does not display correct feedback, the reed switch should be adjusted. To clean the elliptical, use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the console, keep liquids away from the console and keep the console out of direct sunlight. To adjust the reed switch, first unplug the power cord.
Using the flat screwdriver, release the tabs on the Access Cover (20), and lift the Access Cover off the elliptical. Then, remove the seven indicated M4 x 16mm Screws (106), and remove the Left Shield (19). HOW TO ADJUST THE DRIVE BELT If you can feel the pedals slip while you are pedaling, even when the resistance is adjusted to the highest level, the drive belt may need to be adjusted. 20 To adjust the drive belt, first unplug the power cord.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone.
