PART IDENTIFICATION CHART Use the drawings below to identify the small parts needed for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity needed for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see if it has been preassembled. Extra parts may be included.
ASSEMBLY • To hire an authorized service technician to assemble this product, call 1-800-445-2480. • In addition to the included tool(s), assembly requires the following tools: • Assembly requires two persons. one adjustable wrench • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you finish all assembly steps. one Phillips screwdriver • Left parts are marked “L” or “Left” and right parts are marked “R” or “Right.
3. Orient the Front Stabilizer (73) as indicated by the sticker. 3 82 73 While a second person lifts the front of the Frame (1), attach the Front Stabilizer (73) to the Frame with two M10 x 85mm Screws (82). 1 4. Orient the Upright (2) and the Shield Cover (37) as shown. Slide the Shield Cover upward onto the Upright. 4 Wire Tie Have a second person hold the Upright (2) and the Shield Cover (37) near the Frame (1). Locate the wire tie in the lower end of the Upright (2).
5. Tip: Avoid pinching the wires. Slide the Upright (2) onto the Frame (1). 5 Have a second person hold the Shield Cover (37) out of the way. Avoid pinching the wires Attach the Upright (2) with five M10 x 20mm Screws (79) and five M10 Split Washers (78). Tip: Start all five Screws, and then tighten them. 37 Press the Shield Cover (37) into the Left and Right Shields (44, 45). 2 44, 45 79 78 78 79 1 6. Orient the Handlebar (39) as shown.
7. The Console (4) can use four D batteries (not included); alkaline batteries are recommended. Do not use old and new batteries together or alkaline, standard, and rechargeable batteries together. IMPORTANT: If the Console has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before you insert batteries. Otherwise, you may damage the console display or other electronic components. Remove the screws, remove the battery covers, and insert batteries into the battery compartments.
9. Attach the Console Cover (32) to the Console (4) with two M4 x 48mm Screws (34). 9 4 32 34 10. Identify the Right Pedal Arm (49). 10 Slide the Right Pedal Arm (49) onto the Right Crank Arm (25). Attach the Right Pedal Arm with an M8 x 18mm Screw (85) and an M8 Washer (33). Then, press a Pedal Arm Cap (30) onto the Right Pedal Arm. While a second person lifts the back of the Right Pedal (13), insert one of the Cam Axles (75) into the Right Pedal Arm (49).
11. Identify the Right Upper Body Arm (9). 11 Orient the Right Upper Body Arm (9) and one of the Upper Body Legs (6) as shown. Insert the Right Upper Body Arm into the Upper Body Leg. 8 Attach the Right Upper Body Arm (9) to the Upper Body Leg (6) with two M8 x 45mm Bolts (76) and two M8 Jam Nuts (77). Make sure that the Jam Nuts are inside the hexagonal holes. Do not fully tighten the Bolts yet. 9 Attach the Left Upper Body Arm (8) to the other Upper Body Leg (6) in the same way.
. Apply a small amount of grease to a Bolt Set (31). 13 76 Hold the end of the Right Pedal Arm (49) inside the bracket on the right Upper Body Leg (6). 76 Attach the right Upper Body Leg (6) to the Right Pedal Arm (49) with the Bolt Set (31). Repeat this step on the other side of the elliptical. Tighten the M8 x 45mm Bolts (76). 6 31 31 49 Grease 14. Identify a Pivot Cover A (19), which has hooks, and a Pivot Cover B (22), which has tabs.
15. Attach the Rear Upright Cover (3) to the Upright (2) with three M4 x 16mm Screws (83). 15 83 2 3 83 16. Attach the Front Upright Cover (16) around the Upright (2) by pressing the hooks on the Front Upright Cover onto the tabs on the Rear Upright Cover (3). 16 16 2 3 17. Insert the Accessory Tray (5) into the Rear Upright Cover (3).
18. Attach a Front Leg Cover (20) and a Rear Leg Cover (21) around the right Upper Body Leg (6) by pressing the hooks on the Front Leg Cover onto the tabs on the Rear Leg Cover. 18 Repeat this step on the other side of the elliptical. 6 20 21 19. Make sure that all parts of the elliptical are properly tightened. Note: Extra parts may be included. To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the elliptical.
HOW TO USE THE ELLIPTICAL HOW TO MOVE THE ELLIPTICAL HOW TO LEVEL THE ELLIPTICAL Due to the size and weight of the elliptical, moving it requires two persons. Stand in front of the elliptical, hold the upright, and place one foot against one of the wheels. Pull on the upright and have a second person lift the handle on the rear stabilizer until the elliptical will roll on the wheels. Carefully move the elliptical to the desired location, and then lower it to the floor.
HOW TO EXERCISE ON THE ELLIPTICAL To mount the elliptical, hold the handlebars or the upper body arms and step onto the pedal that is in the lower position. Then, step onto the other pedal. Upper Body Arms Push the pedals until they begin to move with a continuous motion. Note: The pedal discs can turn in either direction. It is recommended that you move the pedal discs in the direction shown by the arrow; however, for variety, you can turn the pedal discs in the opposite direction.

HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE The center display—This display will show the resistance level of the pedals for a few seconds each time the resistance level changes. 1. Turn on the console. Press any button or begin pedaling to turn on the console. When you turn on the console, the display will turn on, a tone will sound, and the console will be ready for use. This display will also show a track representing 1/4 mile (400 m).
6. Turn on the fan if desired. After a few seconds, a profile of the resistance levels of the workout will scroll across the center display. The fan has high and low speed settings. Press the Fan button repeatedly to select a fan speed or to turn off the fan. Note: If the pedals do not move for about thirty seconds, the fan will turn off automatically. Profile 7. When you are finished exercising, the console will turn off automatically.
If you stop pedaling for several seconds, a series of tones will sound and the workout will pause. To restart the workout, simply resume pedaling. The workout will continue until the last segment of the profile flashes and the last segment of the workout ends. iFit Slot iFit Card Note: If you continue to pedal after the workout is completed, the display will continue to show exercise feedback; however, the display will not show the elapsed time until you select the manual mode or a new workout.
MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING MAINTENANCE Note: For clarity, the right pedal disc is not shown in the drawing below. It is not necessary to remove the right pedal disc. Inspect and tighten all parts of the elliptical regularly. Replace any worn parts immediately. Locate the Reed Switch (58). Loosen, but do not remove, the M4 x 16mm Screw (83). To clean the elliptical, use a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap.
HOW TO ADJUST THE DRIVE BELT If you can feel the pedals slip while you are pedaling, even when the resistance is adjusted to the highest level, the drive belt may need to be adjusted. 46 To adjust the drive belt, you must remove the shield cover and the left shield (see the instructions below). See EXPLODED DRAWING B on page 27. Using a flat screwdriver, release the tabs along the sides of the Shield Cover (37), and then lift the Shield Cover away from the frame.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone.
