SmartRange monitors changes in the
range's cooking temperature. If
SmartRange detects a cooking re risk,
it will signal a pre-alarm. If the user
DOES NOT press the Heat Sensor cover
during the pre-alarm, the range will
automatically shut off. Smaautomatically shut off. SmartRange
does not protect against all possible
hazards, but it does signicantly improve
cooking safety.

Event Shut-Off
If cooking activity has been unusual,
SmartRange may activate a lockdown
mode that prevents immediate
restoration of cooking functions. This is
a safety feature designed to limit
dangerous situations. dangerous situations. For example, if all
stove top burners have been turned to
high heat and no pots or pans are in use,
SmartRange will detect an unusually high
heat pattern and potential re risk.
SimilaSimilarly, if there have been multiple
pre-alarm activations in a short period of
time, SmartRange will detect a potential
cooking re risk. In these types of
situations SmartRange will disable the
range at the electrical panel. If/when
this occurs, follow these steps:
i)i) Turn all the knobs or dials on the
range to the off position.
ii) Allow the range to cool down for at
least 30 minutes.
iii) Reset the range/Control Unit by
resetting the ranges breaker switch
at the electrical panel.

Other things to keep in mind:
Clean cooking surfaces regularly to
prevent grease buildup.
Keep anything that can catch re -
like potholders, towels, wooden
spoons - away from the stove.
Keep small children and pets away
from the cooking area. Create a
three-foot (one meter) kid-free zone
around the stove.
Don't wear loose clothing or
dangling sleeves while cooking.
Turn pot or pan handles inward so
that they can't be bumped accidently
(or grabbed by small children).
