mustbeusedfor1000Mbpsoperation.Theconnectioncanbe
accomplishedfromanyportontheSG5toanyofthe10Mbps,
 100Mbpsor1000Mbpsportsonanotherswitchorotherdevices.
•PortSpeed&DuplexMode–Afterpluggingtheselectedcableto
 aspecicport,thesystemusesauto-negotiationtodeterminethe
 transmissionmode,auto-detectingthenetworkspeedforanynew
twisted-pairconnection.
Iftheattacheddevicedoesnotsupportauto-negotiationorhasauto-
negotiationdisabled,anauto-sensingprocessisinitiatedtoselectthe
speedandhalf-duplexmodeisselected.
