Device Discovery

Device List

Presented in tabular format, the device list displays devices found

during the search. Device name is presented on the left and

device type is presented on the right. The list can be sorted by

either Device Name or Type by tapping the respective header.

You can tap-and-hold any of the devices that appear in this list to

initiate an action (e.g. send a business card). (see X.X,

"Communicating With Other Devices")

Search button—Launches the search for devices. (see X.X,

"Searching for Devices")

Save button—Allows you to save devices to device groups.

(see X.X, "Saving Devices")

Filter button—Launches the search filter screen (see Figure

2-2). Allows you to tailor your search to specific device(s).

"Find all devices" is initially selected by default. Also allows

you to specify the duration of the search.

If "Stop searching after" is left unchecked, the search will

continue until you terminate the search by tapping either "Stop

Search" or "ok".

Search Status Line—Located at the bottom of the search

screen. Displays the status of the search.

(refer to X.X "Getting Started") It is always possible to conduct a new search for Bluetooth devices. This search will have no affect on any devices that you have previously saved to any of your Device groups. 1. At the bottom of the main window, tap "Search". The search screen will appear (see Figure 2-1). 2. On the search screen, tap "Search".

A bond can be created or broken via the "Actions" menu located at the bottom of the Device Information screen. ■ Last Seen—Indicates the last date and time the device was discovered near your device. ■ Device Group List—Tap here to review or specify which groups this device belongs to. Device Discovery Communicating With Other Devices Once you have established contact with a device, you can use your installed radio to exchange data. You can establish communication from the Main Window, the Search Window or the Device Information Dialogue Window. From the Main Window or Search Window: Tap-and-hold the device you wish to communicate with; you will be presented with a list of services that the selected device supports (see Figure 2-9). Tap “Send” to transfer the file or “Cancel” to abort the operation. Transfer progress will be displayed (see Figure 2-12).

Device Discovery From the main window, tap-and-hold the device that you want to change. - OR From the Device Information window, select the "Actions" menu. 1. The services list will appear (see Figures 2-9 and 2-10). 2. Select "Remove device from group". The group list screen appears (see Figure 2-13). 3. 3 Device Groups Three empty device groups named “All Devices”, “Home” and “Work” are provided upon installation. All discovered Bluetooth devices will be stored in the “All Devices” group when saved. “All Devices” cannot be renamed or deleted. Modifying Groups It is possible to Add, Rename or Delete items on your Group List. From the main window, select "Add/Edit/Delete" from the Group List Pull Down (see Figure 3-1). Figure 3-1.

Select the text of the group you want to rename and key in the desired group name. 2. Tap the "Rename" button. 3. Tap "ok" to return to the previous screen.
