Getting Started Thank you for purchasing VersaJet MP3200 Series Mobile Printer. The MP3200 Series is designed with rugged yet lightweight architecture, delivering the ultimate convenience of mobility to meet your on-demanding labels and receipts printing requirement. IrDA, RS232 and Optional Bluetooth, communication interfaces are supported by MP3200, you can select the most suitable one which meets your demand to generate real-time labels and receipts.
Getting familiar with MP3200 Please familiarize yourself with the features of your MP3200 Series as shown in the following diagram.
Installing and Charging the Battery One Battery Pack is included with the Printer and is shipped uncharged. Please unpack the Battery Pack prior to use. The Printer is powered by a 7.2V 2200mAH Li-Ion Battery Pack. Be sure to fully charge the new rechargeable Battery Pack before using it for the first time. Following the steps below to charge the Battery Pack : Installing the Battery (1) Open Battery Pack Compartment by pushing down the cover lock button.
Charging the Battery (1) Insert the charge cable into the printer charger jack, then plug the charger into the appropriate A.C. wall socket. (2) Power on the Printer by pressing the POWER switch. The LED 1 blinks green light five times, then turning to flash red light. Pressing the POWER switch again, the four LED indicators blink green light three times, then LED 1 turning to flash red light again. This represents the Battery Pack has been fully charged.
Loading the Media Deciding the Type of Media and Printing Mode Before loading the media, please decide the media type and printing mode. Note : If your desired media type is label, it’s necessary for you to change the printing mode by using the Printer Command. After changing the printing mode, please execute the Label Length Measurement for the first time. For detailed “Label Length Measurement” procedure, please refer to paragraph “Conducting Label Length Measurement”.
(2) Adjusting the Width Adjustment Spacer to one of the grooves in accordance with the width of the media roll. Grooves are available for the width from 34 to 58 mm with 3 mm per pitch. Confirm Direction Confirm Direction Width Adjustment Spacer (3) Set the media load as shown in the following diagram. Make sure the direction of media roll is correct (4) For label media, setting the label roll with or without Peeler. For receipt media, please always set the paper roll with Peeler.
(5) Close the Media Compartment Cover. Note : By using label media with specific sensor setup, the Printer performs automatic Top-of-Form by feeding one label when closing the Media Compartment Cover under power-on status. But the Printer doesn’t perform Top-of-Form when using receipt media or continuous printing. Conducting Label Length Measurement When using label media, you have to conduct Label Length Measurement. Please follow the instruction indicated below to carry out the measurement.
Performing a Self-Test Print Printing a Configuration Message Printing a configuration message once the Battery Pack is fully charged and the media roll is loaded. Performing a Self-Test Print to verity the printer is under proper working condition. You can print a configuration message after conducting the Self-Test procedure. (1) Make sure the Printer is power off. (2) Press FEED button and POWER button simultaneously.
Operation The tables below identify and define the Printer switches and LED indicators interface. Switch Functions The Printer has two control switches : POWER switch and FEED switch. Following table shows the Printer status by pressing each switch. under different states.
Normal Mode Press, with Media Compartment Cover closed Label Print Mode: When no print has been done, feed one label. If any print has been done, re-print the last label. Receipt Print Mode: Feed paper approx. 20mm. If follows “stop printing” caused by an error, then re-print the last print.
LED Indicators The Printer has four LED Indicators. When you turn on the power or press the POWER switch under power save mode, the LED Indicators display the battery remains by blinking light. Power Save Mode To minimize the power consumption, the Printer changes to Power Save Mode in accordance with your setting automatically. If it’s under an error condition, then the Printer goes to power Saving Mode in 10 seconds.
(4) Pressing the Power switch - The Printer carries out head check and displays battery remains, then turn to normal mode.
Auto Power Off In order to minimize the battery consumption, the Printer goes off automatically 10 minutes later after entering into Power Saving Mode. Before Auto Power-Off, MP3200 Series sends a notice to the last-communicated external equipment. If no response from the external equipment or no any operation on both POWER or FEED switches, the Printer will shut off in 10 seconds. If you want to turn on the Printer, just pressing the POWER switch.
