Detectable Underground Tape
This specification is intended to outline the physical and chemical properties of PANDUIT’s detectable underground tape and include
the following part numbers and printable material identifiers:

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS:
Description: GMDU is a detectable tape consisting of a 0.35 mil solid aluminum
core encased in a protective plastic jacket. Tape shall be detectable up
to a depth of 18 to 24 inches for a 3 inch wide tape and 24 to 30 inches
for a 6 inch wide tape.
Standard Colors: Orange, red and blue
Thickness: 5.5 mil. +/- 10%(complete laminate structure)

Density:
Material density is 1.090 gm/cc (ASTM D792-66). Core density will vary
depending on moisture conditions.
Cold Fracture: After 5 hours at minus 30F (minus 34C) mounted on a steel plate, the material
did not
crack or fracture when a 0.5 lb (0.23 kg) round steel ball was dropped on
it from a height of 24 inches (61 cm).
Resistance to Acids: Resists acids of 4.0 pH for a minimum of 10 years duration
Resistance to Bases: Resists bases of 10.0 pH for a minimum of 10 years duration
Elevated Temperature Exposure: After 8 hours at 220°F (104°C) there was no deterioration of the material

All PANDUIT Identification Solution Products (except for Software programs) are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship
at the time of sale but our obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement of the product proved to be defective within 6 months from the
date of sale, or in the case of printers, within 90 days from the date of sale. This warranty is void if the products or printers are modified, altered
or misused in any way. Use of P
ANDUIT printers with any product other than the specified PANDUIT products for which the printer was designed
constitutes misuse. Before using, the user shall determine the suitability of the product for its intended use and user assumes all risk and
liability whatsoever in connection therewith. The foregoing may not be altered except by an agreement signed by officers or seller and
manufacturer.
