specifications
Rack mount fiber enclosures shall house, organize, manage
and protect fiber optic cable, terminations, splices, connectors
and patch cords. Enclosure shall accommodate all Panduit
trunk cables, connectors, patch cords, fiber adapter panels
(FAP) and fiber mount panels (FMP). The enclosure shall
include integral cable management and bend radius control
for transition to vertical cable managers. Fiber optic enclosures
shall be constructed of steel material. Molded front and
back doors shall be removable for cabling and connector
installation. 1 RU and 2 RU enclosures shall provide full
front and rear access with a drawer that slides forward and
backward. 3 RU and 4 RU enclosures shall feature a fixed
bulkhead design. Enclosure shall have multiple knockouts for
a variety of trunk cable entry points.
key features and benefits
Works with all Panduit

Opticom
®
Provides versatility and flexibility with a fully modular
LC, SC, ST, MT-RJ and MTP* solution for a variety of fiber optic patching, terminating,
Connector Fiber Adapter Panels and splicing applications
Integral cable management Provides proper cable routing pathways and ensures minimum
cable bend radius for end-to-end signal integrity
Bi-directional pullout drawers Improves front access to patch cords and connectors
(FRME1U and FRME2U) and rear access to terminations, slack storage and
trunk cable/inter-connect cables; faster and easier
installation for lower total installed cost and reduced
maintenance costs
Hinged, removable front and Enables access to fiber optic patch cords without needing
rear doors to move drawer for easier moves, adds, and changes
One-to-one patching and Yields higher port densities for fusion splice applications
splicing capability with one-to-one patching-to-splicing fiber count for up to
(FRME1U and FRME2U) 72 splices per RU
TIA-606-A compatible labeling Standards-based, mechanically printed labeling of fiber
connectivity, patchfields, and enclosures enables clear and
accurate labeling for easy moves, adds and changes

applications
Opticom
®
Rack Mount Fiber Enclosures provide
a flexible system suitable for managing fiber
terminations, connections, and patching in all
types of applications. The enclosure can serve as
a transition from backbone cabling to distribution
switching in telecommunications rooms or closets,
an interconnect to active equipment in server
cabinets or switch racks, or can be specified for
cross-connect or inter-connect use in a main
distribution area or horizontal distribution area.
The enclosures can manage from 12 to 72 fibers
in 1 RU and up to 288 fibers in 4 RU when used
with standard FAP and FMP series adapter panels
loaded with LC, SC, ST, MT-RJ, or MTP* style
adapters. Integral cable management, bend radius
control, and slack management features protect fiber
optic cables, patch cords, and connectors ensuring
end-to-end signal integrity for increased
network reliability.
