After activation, we recommend charging your device for three and a half hours to give it a full charge. Confidential Using a Sprint Charger Adapter Device Setup If the connector on your Sprint-approved 1 Amp AC charger or vehicle charger doesn’t fit into the connector on the bottom of your device, use the included Sprint charger adapter. When used as a phone, the Treo device battery provides up to 4.5 hours of talk time on the Nationwide Sprint PCS® Network or up to 15 days of standby time. Talk time is slightly lower when you are roaming on the cellular 800 MHz band.

Confidential Moving Around the Device Screen To move around the Treo™ 700P smart device screen, you can use the 5-way navigator for one-handed navigation, or you can tap items on the screen with the stylus. With use, you will find your own favorite way to scroll, highlight, and select menu items. Note: The 5-way Some third-party applications may not work with the 5-way navigator, and you must use the stylus instead.

The behavior of the 5-way for list screens and entry screens varies by application. Selecting Menu Items Many applications have menus to provide access to additional features. These menus are usually hidden from view, but they appear when you open the menus . To get the most out of your Treo device, it’s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the additional features available through the various application menus. 1.

Pick lists are different from the application menus previously described. Backlight Backspace Option Return Menu Shift/Find Space Alt The Backspace, Return, Space, and Shift keys, as well as the letter keys, work in the same way as do those found on any computer keyboard. In addition, your device offers several special function keys.

Using the Quick Buttons The front of the Treo 700P smart device has three buttons that you can use to open applications. The fourth button opens Applications view, which allows you to open all the applications on your device (see “Using Applications View” on page 52).

For example, the device screen can be off while the phone is on, or the device screen can be on while the phone is off.
